The details

Perched high above the golden sweep of Gerrans Bay, this is coastal Cornwall at its most captivating. Floor-to-ceiling windows stretch across the sea-facing side of the house, drawing the outside in and framing an ever-changing canvas of sky and water. From misty morning sunrises to fiery coastal sunsets, this is a place where you’ll find yourself pausing, coffee in hand, simply to drink it all in.

Built in traditional Cornish style, this stunning detached home blends timeless charm with contemporary comfort. The heart of the house is a spectacular open-plan living space, bathed in natural light and opening straight onto a generous stone terrace. Two deep three-seater sofas and sumptuous swivel chairs with matching ottomans are perfectly positioned towards the sea, while a wood-burning stove adds a cosy glow on cooler evenings. A Smart TV ensures relaxed film nights after long coastal walks.

The kitchen is a joy to cook in, with duck egg blue shaker cabinetry, white quartz worktops and high-quality Neff appliances. There’s a Grind coffee machine compatible with Nespresso standard pods for slow, lazy mornings, while the large oak dining table for eight sits beneath elegant pendant lighting, creating an intimate setting for long suppers and lively conversation. A separate utility room keeps things practical and uncluttered.

The house sleeps eight guests across four beautifully styled bedrooms. Upstairs, the master suite is a showstopper, with a super-king size bed facing uninterrupted sea views and double doors opening to a Juliet balcony. Imagine drifting off with the sound of the sea breeze on a warm summer night. There’s a sleek ensuite with walk-in shower and twin vanity units. Also on this floor are a king bedroom and a charming twin, both with glorious coastal outlooks. Downstairs, a flexible zip-and-link room can be arranged as twins or a super-king, dressed in calming blue tones. Underfloor heating runs throughout and all beds are made up in Egyptian cotton linens.

Outside, the expansive terrace invites alfresco feasts at the teak table for eight, morning yoga with the horizon as your backdrop and lazy afternoons stretched out on sun loungers. Steps lead to a lawned garden wrapping around the house, offering space to unwind after sandy days at nearby beaches.

With the South West Coast path nearby and The Hidden Hut close by, you’re perfectly placed to explore the Roseland Peninsula. Head over to Portscatho (a short drive or long walk away) for a pub lunch, visit St Mawes for its harbour and ferry to Falmouth, or spend your days discovering pristine beaches, sub-tropical gardens and the unspoilt beauty that makes this corner of Cornwall so special.
