You should know

  • The field is a car free zone.
  • This property has won Gold in the Bristol Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards, was a finalist in the South West Tourism Awards and the Mendip Business Awards, and won a VisitEngland ROSE Award in 2022.
  • Ted's Hut is TV and WiFi free, so you can totally switch off.
  • The nearest charging point for electric cars is in Wells, at Morrisons Supermarket (postcode BA5 1UA) – which is just 5 ½ miles/11 minutes away.
  • However if you’re staying in Ted and have got your own ‘grannylead’ you can charge up onsite, as there is a socket next to the car park. The owners don’t charge for this service, but Len and Ted would like you to make a donation to an ecological charity instead.
  • Len's Hut is up to 1 medium sized dog friendly for £35 for the whole stay, Ted's Hut is regretfully not dog friendly.

The details

A true bastion of isolated tranquility, Tor View Shepherds Huts are a fine example of bespoke design that stay true to the rustic charm of the countryside whilst remaining high end, modern and comfortable. Venture out into the wilderness and discover a place of relaxation, fantastic views, and pure comfort.

The huts’ position high up on the Mendip Hills leads to splendid views of the Somerset countryside towards Glastonbury Tor. Approach these rustic, yet extremely luxurious, huts and you’ll notice that there is no sign and no doorbell. In fact, you can only get into your hut once you’ve received your special code and directions via email.

Stroll through the door after a walk, taking in everything that this beautiful part of the country has to offer, and curl up in front of the big fire to get toasty and warm. Cooking up some lovely food is made easy thanks to the modern kitchen, and each hut also has an en-suite shower and toilet. Then, after a long day out, or a relaxed day in, you can jump into your wonderful bed, with a luxury mattress for a cosy and comfy night’s sleep.

Disconnect and indulge yourself in nature and relaxation. Tor View Shepherds Huts offer you the chance to escape to the luscious greenery of Somerset and have all the touches you need to be able to properly relax. You can even lie back and unwind in the hot tub, which is wood fired and sits outside. No matter what the weather, you can hop into the lovely warm handmade tub and enjoy a glass of wine or bubbly beneath the starlit sky. There’s also a fire pit outside that you can use to sit and keep warm. Or why not try your hand at some rustic cooking?

These luxurious huts are situated perfectly for you to explore the best of what Somerset has to offer. Head over to Wells, England’s smallest Cathedral city, or go for a stroll around the lovely town of Glastonbury. You could even head on over to Cheddar Gorge or the beautiful Wookey Hole limestone caves. There is so much to do around Tor View Shepherds Huts, that you can fill your days with fun and exciting activities and walks. However, we will forgive you if you just want to sit in the hot tub admiring the view.
