Perched high on the side of the Long Mynd, with sweeping views across the pretty market town of Church Stretton, Tiger Hall is a striking house that offers a luxurious yet welcoming escape in the heart of the Shropshire Hills. Recently restored with great care, it combines Edwardian character with modern comforts, including a superb hot tub, creating a retreat that’s as practical as it is indulgent. Sleeping up to 10 guests, with space for a few more in the fun-filled games room, it’s an idyllic spot for families and friends to gather and make memories together.
Step inside and you’re greeted by an elegant entrance hall with its original tiled floor and sweeping staircase. From here, the house flows into a bright, modern kitchen overlooking the garden, complete with a farmhouse table perfect for lazy breakfasts or lively suppers. The kitchen is nicely equipped with a double Rangemaster cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, Sage coffee machine and a dishwasher.
The adjoining living room is warm and inviting, with a wood-burner, deep sofas and patio doors that open straight onto the terrace. A separate dining room, with its bay window and second wood burner, is the perfect stage for long, laughter-filled meals. For added convenience, there’s a ground-floor bedroom and shower room - ideal for those who prefer to stay closer to the action without tackling stairs.
Upstairs, four more bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements, from zip-and-link beds that adapt to your group’s needs, to a double room with its own ensuite. The family bathroom is a real highlight, featuring a roll-top bath for indulgent soaks and a separate shower for freshening up after a day on the hills. Head to the top floor and you’ll discover the games and cinema room - a haven for younger guests, and anyone who enjoys a big-screen movie, a round of table football, or a late-night board game.
Outside, the magic continues. The walled garden feels private and secure, with sweeping rural views as its backdrop. Children and dogs can run safely on the lawn while the grown-ups gather on the terrace, where a pizza oven, fire pit and outdoor dining suite set the stage for alfresco evenings. As the night falls, slip into the bubbling hot tub and gaze up at the star-filled skies that make this corner of Shropshire a designated Dark Sky area.
Tiger Hall sits in the heart of the Shropshire Hills AONB, perfectly placed for adventure and relaxation. A five-minute stroll brings you to Church Stretton, known as “Little Switzerland” for its dramatic scenery, while the garden gate leads straight into Rectory Wood and onto trails to the Long Mynd, Carding Mill Valley and Caer Caradoc. Walkers, cyclists and wild swimmers are spoiled for choice, with routes for all abilities, quiet lanes, challenging climbs and even a reservoir for a refreshing dip. Further afield, the historic towns of Ludlow and Shrewsbury offer medieval charm, vibrant markets and acclaimed food scenes.
