Beautifully designed Luxury Yurt Stay in West Dorset, with wood-fired hot tub, wood burning stove, and private two acre garden,
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 3 nights
The Yurt at Hollands Farmhouse is a luxury, unique, private space within an extraordinary two acre garden, nestled within the tranquil Dorset countryside.
Hollands Farmhouse originally dates back to the 18th century, and was once a working dairy farm. In present times, the farmhouse forms part of a quaint residential hamlet, with its expansive gardens beautifully maintained to provide the ideal setting for an unforgettable countryside escape. Perfectly situated just ten minutes from Dorchester, you'll also find that you are only six miles away from the sea and several award winning beaches.
Locally crafted by experts and created from fine oak and canvas, the yurt itself is wonderfully spacious, and insulated with lamb’s wool for extra warmth. You'll find everything you need to relax and revive inside. A swish sofa, board games, and a smart wood-burning stove form part of the bespoke living area. With a super king-sized bed dressed in goose down duvets and plump pillows, everything has been taken care of here. Whatever time of year you visit, you are ensured complete cosiness. You’ll even find mains electricity, USB charging sockets and WiFi for if you so desire.
The indulgence continues outside, where a bespoke horsebox bathroom has been expertly designed to include a piping hot double-shower with discreet views of the countryside, flushing loo, heated towel rail and complimentary toiletries.
Meanwhile, a fully equipped ‘open stable' kitchen provides plenty of scope for fine al fresco dining, with a gas hob, SMEG fridge-freezer, microwave, Kadai BBQ and firepit, all adding choices to your cooking options.
Other opportunities to relax in your private space include a hammock, stylishly created from birch trees, and a cedar wood-fired hot tub – perfect for soaking in with a glass of bubbles and admiring the night sky.
Everything about The Yurt at Hollands Farmhouse has been cleverly conceptualised, thought through, and executed, to create a living space unlike anywhere else. It is both quaint and comfortable.
Between the views, the tranquillity of the private yurt, relaxing hot-tub and beautiful gardens, guests may struggle to leave. For those looking to venture out, you’ll find an award winning local vineyard, the world-famous Jurassic coast, the historic town of Dorchester, the ancient hillfort of Maiden Castle or check out Max Gate, Thomas Hardy’s former home.

Highly recommended - a tranquil hideaway in the middle of the Dorset countryside. The views from the Yurt are stunning - sunrise over the orchards on the hill opposite and 360 degree views from the hammock and the hot tub. The Yurt is beautiful - every detail has been thought about. The bed is so comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped and we loved the bathroom in a converted horse box - Plenty of hot water with a view over the hills. It's also twinned with a sponsored toilet in Africa which is a nice touch. Towels and linens are all high quality. If you want a relaxing time away where the hosts have thought of everything you might need, then look no further. You can get to the beaches easily and there are plenty of options close by for walks. However if you just want to chill out at the Yurt, then the hammock and hot tub are idyllic.

We spent 2 nights at the yurt for our 10th wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to totally unwind and switch off from hectic family life! The whole experience exceeded our expectations and the yurt and it’s amenities are even better than in the photos as is it’s position high up on the hillside with fabulous views. The yurt is stunning and huge, the horse box bathroom is brilliant and the hot tub pure bliss. Amazing stargazing, al fresco breakfasts and relaxing in the hammock and around the fire pit! The only downside was having to leave! A truly memorable stay, thank you!

Words can not express how beautiful this place is! My hubby and I had 2 of the most relaxing days/nights here dealing only with decisions like when to eat and whether to lay in the hammock or get into the hot tub (again)! Will and Fiona were fabulous-leaving us to enjoy the peace and tranquillity but being on hand should we require any assistance. A truly relaxing, tranquil, beautiful place-we will definitely be back!

My partner and I have recent returned from a two night stay at The Yurt and cannot recommend it highly enough! The Yurt is positioned in a peaceful and secluded spot overlooking rolling hills. We spent hours in the wood fired hot tub admiring the view and relaxing in the hammock. The Yurt itself is romantically lit with fairy lights and the bed was a dream to climb into at night. Being the middle of July, we did not make use of the log burner but I'm sure this makes a lovely addition in the winter. The horse box bathroom has been beautifully renovated and hot water was aplenty. Looking out at the view whilst taking a shower was definitely a highlight. We have returned feeling relaxed and refreshed and looking forward to our next trip! Thanks Will and Fiona for having us and for being lovely, non intrusive hosts.
