Head for a whimsical walk in the wild, woodland copses and when you spot a swinging bridge look up amongst the branches. Perched up high amongst Dorset’s wise oak trees, you’ll find your secret home in the sun-kissed canopies.
Radiating with the romance of myths and fables, The Woodman’s Treehouse is your own enchanted kingdom. Expertly handcrafted and luxuriously finished, it is a magical home for your own storybook adventure. Explore the ancient woodlands or the babbling brook, or the windswept meadows and the Jurassic Coast. When the sun goes down and the moon starts to shimmer, you can follow star-lit paths back to your treehouse pillars.
Beyond the chic lines of its bare, natural exterior, lies a world unlike that of any other. A light-flooded bedroom overlooks the circular living quarters which are joined by a freestanding copper bathtub looking out over the treetops. Every home comfort has been carefully thought out, including a bespoke kitchen, king-size bed and soft, leather armchairs. A revolving wood burner keeps everything cosy, along with thick blankets, plush cushions and scattered candles.
Its minimalist wood finish blends in with the woodland setting and allows the mesmerising views to take central focus. A window in the floor looks down onto the meandering stream, while a skylight in the bedroom looks up into the fluttering leaves. A modern bathroom completes the downstairs living areas and has a flushing toilet and hot running water.
Outside on the rear deck, you can reconnect with Mother Nature, watching the birds flitter, the badgers dig and the rabbits in their burrows. Try the open-air tree shower with its lashings of hot water or the modern barbeque and wood-fired pizza oven. Follow the spiral staircase up to the top of the treehouse and you’ll even find your own outdoor hot tub and sauna.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the treehouse is just a short drive from the stunning Jurassic Coastline. Enjoy heady coastal walks along the dramatic cliff faces, before stopping off at one of the famous, seafront restaurants. Bradstock’s Hive Beach Café is a local favourite, along with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen. Back at the treehouse, you can try your hand at a new skill by enrolling onto one of the owner’s woodland craft courses. Try spoon carving, chair making or intricate bowl shaping before retreating back into the woodlands for your night time star gazing.
