Originally built in 1759, this charming Grade II listed pub is nestled on the banks of Old River Ancholme in Brigg, North Lincolnshire. It has recently been renovated and extended to transform it into a versatile venue that can cater for a wide range of occasions. From big family get togethers and birthday celebrations to weddings or even corporate events, The White Hart has everything you’ll need. Serve drinks over the original bar, play a game of darts or unwind in front of a crackling log fire within the cosy confines of your very own pub. With accommodation for up to 40 guests, it’s perfect for large groups that need plenty of space.
The recent renovations have preserved the original bar area while expanding the size of the function space to accommodate big groups. A fantastic new kitchen has also been added and you’ll find cosy snugs to escape to, a games area and a beautifully landscaped beer garden along the riverside. The main social space is naturally the central bar area which you’ll find fully equipped with bar stools, glassware and drinks fridges. Bring your own drinks to stock the bar as you prefer or arrange to have it ready and waiting for you upon arrival.
The pub also has a games area with a pool table, darts board and a retro games arcade. If you’re in need of a dance floor, the pool table can be stowed away and there are zoned speakers throughout the ground floor. When you need a break from the festivities, put your feet up in the snug, made extra cosy by the log fire. The adjoining cottage also has two additional living spaces in case you need a bit of peace and quiet.
The high-end new kitchen connects to the main dining area and looks out over the riverside garden. You’ll find it fully equipped for large groups with all the appliances and utensils you could need, whether you’re planning to do the cooking yourselves or getting some caterers in. There's also a cosy area with the original pub pews and tables which creates a lovely breakfast spot.
Head upstairs and you’ll find 15 boutique-style bedrooms, all beautifully furnished. They all have luxurious Hypnos beds and mattresses and four have the option of an additional trundle bed for an extra person. Nine of the bedrooms have ensuites and there are an additional three family bathrooms for the other rooms to share. More sleeping space can be found in The Cottage where the living rooms both have double sofa beds.
Outside, you’ll find the large riverside terrace spanning the length of the pub with outdoor seating, covered areas and plenty of dining space, all with lovely views of Old River Ancholme. There’s even a private mooring attached to the terrace for the exclusive use of guests at The White Hart.
You’ll find the pub in a prime location at the entrance to Brigg’s Market Square. The town is renowned for its vibrant independent shopping scene and fabulous farmers’ markets, making it a great place to explore. You’ll also find plenty of dining and drinking options within walking distance of The White Hart. If you fancy venturing into North Lincolnshire’s beautiful countryside, follow the Ancholme Valley Way along the riverbank, soaking up the flora and fauna as you go. The nearby Humber Bridge Country Park and Elsham Hall Gardens and Country Park are also great for an afternoon out, enjoying a bit of nature.
