Head deep into the woods of this 10th Century manor to discover the hidden secrets of its enchanting treetop towers. Perched amongst the Devonshire country and with captivating coastal glances, The Treehouses at Pickwell Manor are destined for fairy tale romances. Picture heady country days in the great outdoors, rambling through the open fields and along secluded, sandy shores. In the nights, you can snuggle up in your luxury treehouse hide, watching the crimson sunset and throwing a log on the fire.
The experience begins as you arrive at the Grade II-listed manor, leaving your car behind and piling your luggage in the barrow. Take the vintage lantern and walk through the six-acre estate, searching for the West Wood Loft or the East Wood Hideaway.
As you wander ever deeper, you can gaze up into the rugged, woodland branches, spying the winding stairs that lead up to treetop houses. Both have been handcrafted from gorgeous, local timbers and have eco-friendly builds and curved architecture. Solar panels and spring water provide the essentials and give these fanciful homes an added natural splendour.
Inside, they ooze with romance and whimsy, fusing plush home comforts with down-to-earth touches. Expect open-plan living areas with toasty wood burners, looking over bespoke modern kitchens and designer dining areas.
Sink into the deep leather sofas or throw open the balcony doors, dining alfresco beneath the stars and gazing at the twinkling, coastal shores. A plump king-size bed is waiting to lure you in and is joined by a contemporary en-suite with an artistic woodland scene. Look out for the imaginative tree stump tables and the soft earthy tones, along with the rustic, hand-carved stone and bare natural oak.
Hunker down in your treehouse or set out for adventure, crafting memories and planning your happily ever after. Walk to sandy Putsborough beach or the quaint village of Georgeham, exploring the pastoral, country scenes and windswept beaches. Try surfing, fishing or horse riding on the beach, or cycling, climbing or hiking in the hills. Lundy Island and Lynmouth are well worth a visit, as is pretty Ilfracombe and the nearby National Trust gardens. Back at Pickwell Manor there is plenty to keep you entertained, including tennis courts, gardens and wild nature trails.
