Welcome to The Tidal House, a sleek and stylish waterfront retreat in the Outer Hebrides where contemporary design meets ever-changing natural beauty. Recently renovated from top to toe, this stunning hideaway blends modern comfort with jaw-dropping views, creating a space that feels nicely connected to the wild landscape around it.
Once you enter the home you’ll be greeted by an expansive open-plan living, kitchen and dining area. This is the social heart of the home and is wrapped on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows where you can soak in the panoramic views of the water. This is a great place to unwind together over a drink, catching up with loved ones as you take in the views.
Whether you're preparing breakfast at the sleek kitchen island, perched at the breakfast bar or sharing a meal at the dining table framed by a huge picture window, you’re always presented with views of the loch. Watch seals bob in the water and keep your eyes peeled for seabirds sweeping across the sky
The kitchen is a dream for culinary enthusiasts, boasting high-spec appliances from Miele, AEG and Neff. A separate utility room – also equipped with Miele appliances – ensures practicality and convenience. Depending on the direction of the weather, choose between two entrances – one facing east, the other west – a small but thoughtful touch that speaks to the house’s clever, weather-savvy design.
When night falls, the Tidal House comfortably sleeps six across three beautifully styled bedrooms. The master suite features a king size bed and a sleek ensuite shower room with premium Hansgrohe fittings, as well as mesmerising views toward the Isle of Skye. A second king room and a twin-bedded room provide flexibility for families or friends travelling together, and a travel cot can be provided on request. The main family bathroom is a showstopper, with a walk-in shower and a large free-standing bath offering the perfect place to indulge in a relaxing soak after a day exploring the surrounding scenery.
Outside, the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Relax in the outdoor seating areas and breathe in the crisp air as you watch the tides roll in and out. The garden stretches right to the shoreline, offering direct access to the water and a front-row seat to the ever-changing view of the Highlands.
North Uist is a paradise for nature lovers, offering endless white sand beaches, turquoise waters and some of the UK’s most spectacular wildlife. Walk barefoot along deserted shores like Hosta or Berneray’s West Beach, climb Eaval directly from The Tidal House for sweeping views or take to the water for unforgettable sea trips to spot puffins, seals and even whales. Join a wildlife ranger to discover red deer, otters and eagles, or fish on peaceful moorland lochs. For foodies, enjoy fresh local seafood at nearby cafés and inns, or visit the Hebridean Smokehouse for world-class smoked salmon and scallops.
