The Detail...
The Stables is a charming converted barn in the Cotswolds offering families or groups of friends the perfect relaxing retreat. The sleek and stylish interior design complements and contrasts perfectly with the original features of the building - such as vaulted ceilings and wooden beams.
Sleeping up to eight guests, the holiday home is located in the village of Bibury in rural Gloucestershire. The ground level is home to the social aspects of The Stables. This includes the dramatic and expansive kitchen/diner, with its grey walls working in tandem with the accompanying artwork. The dining room table seats up to 10 people and has beautiful overhanging lights, while the fully equipped kitchen comes complete with a large island.
The sitting room is ideal for a cosy afternoon or evening in, with comfy sofas sitting in front of the log burner. For that added little bit of peace and quiet, there is also a snug room with an L-shaped sofa sitting in front of the flatscreen TV.
One of the four super king bedrooms is found on the ground level, complete with its own en-suite bathroom. The other three are all on the first floor, two of which can alternatively be a twin and also have en-suite bathrooms. Skylights in the ceiling allow light to flood into these stunningly designed and decorated rooms.
Outside is a private garden and terrace with furniture and a barbecue for alfresco dining. Why not take a stroll into the Bibury itself, with its calm river running through its centre and rows of picturesque houses dotted throughout? Just 10 minutes further by car is Bourton-on-the-Water - dubbed the Venice of the Cotswolds - while Cotswolds Water Park with its tranquil lakes, as well as the grand Blenheim Palace, are also close by.
For those who want to treat their taste buds with excellent food and drink, then produce at Daylesford Organic Farm is a must. As are the locally made ales at Hook Norton Brewery, or spirits at Cotswolds Distillery. Then why not relax and unwind with a pampering session at the Haybarn Spa.
