The detail

The Potting Shed is a lovely traditional pub in the Kent countryside, surrounded by pretty countryside, a lovely coastline and historic towns and villages. Guests wanting to take full advantage of the large variety of beers and wines and great food can enjoy a relaxing evening before slipping off to one of the stylish and modern rooms.

Six rooms have been delightfully designed for a luxurious stay and there are two sets of adjoining rooms which makes it a great option for couples and families alike. The Big Griggle and Little Griggle are a king sized double, and a double or twin room respectively, with an inter-connecting door.  En-suite showers have been tastefully styled with green and white metro tiles and large walk-in showers with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Large timbers cross the white washed ceilings above the comfy beds which have stylish rattan headboards with matching bedside lamps.  Modern wooden panelling fills the walls of these good sized rooms. Organic colour schemes and a smattering of foliage create a relaxing atmosphere with pops of drama provided courtesy of the colourfully patterned rugs and scatter cushions.

All rooms have living areas, as part of the open plan lay-out, which are furnished with modern, teal corner sofas which can be transformed into comfy double beds. This makes a great space for relaxing with a morning coffee or chilling out with a book before dinner. The other connecting rooms are the Delchapel, a twin which can be converted to a double, and The Carron, while two further doubles are available named The Bothy and The Perch.

All the rooms come with breakfast as standard and The Potting Shed takes breakfast, and all meals, very seriously. Guests are offered an extensive choice from the breakfast menu which also includes a selection of smoothies, juices, champagnes and breakfast cocktails. Food is all locally sourced from the Kent countryside - famously known as the Garden of England. Meals can be enjoyed in the cosy bar, impressive architect-design Scandinavian inspired 'A' frame dining room or in the large garden enjoying the sunshine. Throughout the summer weekends, a burger shack opens up in the garden for fun foodie experiences with the family.

Lots of local landmarks including Leeds Castle and the Langley Loch can be accessed by foot from the door of the pub. There is a list of circular walking routes, all starting from The Potting Shed, available for guests to discover. The market town of Maidstone is a short drive away, while the lovely coastal town Whitstable, famous for its great seafood and oysters, is 90 minutes away.
