With spectacular sea views and a fabulous location close to Porthleven's sandy beach, The Old School House offers groups of up to eight (with space for two more) the perfect base for a quintessential stay by the sea.
Inside, this home has been creatively designed to ensure you and your loved ones are as comfortable as possible. Big windows flood the living spaces with natural light, whilst offering amazing views out to sea. Gather in the comfy lounge and unwind with a drink in hand as you gaze out across the beach or enjoy a movie on the wall-mounted smart TV. A wood-burning fireplace here ensures you stay toasty and warm whatever the weather.
Or, step out onto your patio garden and breathe in the fresh sea air as you enjoy a morning coffee in style. This is the ideal place for alfresco lunches on hot days or evening drinks as you take in the incredible sunset.
The Old School House has a lovely kitchen that is nicely equipped with modern appliances, making meal prep a breeze. There’s also a nice dining table that seats up to eight guests and offers a lovely spot for social dinners next to a grand bay window.
Another lovely social spot is the games room, where you’ll find a combined air hockey/pool/table tennis table. Challenge your friends to a game whilst listening to your favourite tunes on the Bose speaker. There’s also a PlayStation 5 here that the kids will love, as well as a smart TV for movie nights or box set marathons. This room can also double up as an additional bedroom for larger groups, thanks to its large sofa bed for two, however, there is no clothing storage making this room more suited to older children or teenagers.
When night falls, the home has four superb bedrooms on offer, one of which sits on the ground floor with a lovely ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower cubicle. The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs, two of which have super-king zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as singles if needed. One of these bedrooms has an ensuite shower room and the others share a separate shower room with a shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
You’re perfectly placed to discover Porthleven’s vibrant coastal charm tucked away between rugged cliffs and turquoise seas. Wander the heritage-lined harbour, indulge in fresh?catch?fish and chips then hop between secretly-stunning coves like Loe Bar. Paddleboard around sheltered waters or surf wild Atlantic breaks.
In the wider Cornish countryside, ramble moorland paths, treat your taste buds at farm-to-table tea?rooms or cycle along sun?dappled trails past quaint stone villages. As dusk falls, sip a Cornish gin by the fire with salt-tinged air drifting in.
