This gorgeous barn conversion has brought new life to a 100-year-old dairy building. Once used as the barn where cows were milked, The Old Dairy is now a cosy, open plan cottage for two, set in the charming Worcestershire countryside. Contemporary interior design perfectly complements the barn’s features, such as the stone-flagged floor, exposed beams and brickwork. This results in a lovely combination of holiday luxury and rustic charm. You’ll even find some of the original equipment used by dairy farmers in the bedroom area.
Step into The Old Dairy and you’ll find the living area and kitchen in a large open-plan space. It feels light and spacious thanks to the high ceilings and open design. The country cottage-style kitchen is well-equipped and the dining area is set in front of large patio doors that look out onto a pretty courtyard. Move through to the living area and you’ll find a big comfy sofa, perfect for putting your feet up with a book and a cup of tea after a long countryside walk.
The bedroom is divided off from the rest of the living space with a partial wall, helping the space retain its open feel while the exposed brick wall behind the bed and warm lighting create a cosy atmosphere. In the evening you can lie back and do a bit of stargazing through the sky-light set in the sloping ceiling above. The bathroom is located at the other end of the barn and features a luxurious rainfall shower. Outside, you’ll find your own private garden space with a wood-fired hot tub and a patio where you can enjoy a barbecue and a drink in the sunshine.
The Old Dairy is located on Rowley Farm in the Worcestershire countryside. This tranquil setting, surrounded by meadows, rolling hills and beautiful bluebell woodland, is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are plenty of walking routes in the local area that will help you make the most of the countryside. If you need your culture fix, Worcestershire is full of interesting places to visit, from castles, grand houses and gardens to fascinating museums. Spend an afternoon wandering through the beautiful gardens at Spetchley Park or visit the striking gothic Worcester cathedral before heading back to The Old Dairy for a dip in the hot tub.
