The detail

You’ll find this characterful farmhouse nestled amongst the rolling hills of West Yorkshire with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Set in the medieval village of Heptonstall, with its cobbled streets and friendly pubs,The Long View Yorkshire offers an idyllic escape for groups of friends or family looking to get away from it all. Enjoy long walks in the countryside or sunny afternoons relaxing in the garden. Unwind with a dip in the hot tub while taking in the stunning views or put your feet up in front of the wood-burning stove after a day of exploring.

Step inside via the grand hallway with its impressive stone staircase and flagstone floors and make your way through to the open-plan kitchen and dining area. This is the social hub of the house with a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with an AGA range cooker and plenty of room for everyone around the huge dining table. There’s also a comfy Chesterfield sofa where you can sip a glass of wine while chatting in front of the cosy electric stove. After dinner, choose between the two sitting rooms with their big sofas and get stuck into a board game with a fire crackling away in the wood-burner.

You’ll find one of the bedrooms downstairs with an ensuite shower room while the remaining bedrooms are all upstairs. There’s a large bedroom with a super-king size bed that leads through to an ensuite and a room with bunk beds, making a lovely family suite. There’s another double room with a magnificent mahogany king size sleigh bed and two twin rooms that share a large family bathroom with a shower and a separate roll-top bath. This is the perfect spot to escape to for a quiet soak after a long walk. The final bedroom features another sumptuous king size bed and a stylish ensuite.

When the sun is shining, step outside and explore the house’s 15 acre grounds where you can stroll through the woodlands and soak up the scenery. There’s also a large garden with a lawn area, perfect for outdoor games or simply relaxing with a book. You’ll be able to rustle up some lunch on the BBQ and enjoy eating outdoors on one of the patio areas. As the evening starts to draw in, go for a relaxing dip in the hot tub as you watch the stars appear in the beautiful dark countryside skies.

There’s plenty to explore in the surrounding area with footpaths that take you into the surrounding valley from the front door. Pack a picnic and head out along one of the trails and you might be lucky enough to spot deer, pheasants and even owls along the way. You may also wish to head to the pretty village of Heptonstall or venture a little further to the market town of Hebden Bridge, home to a rich arts and culture scene.
