This quirky and comfy bolthole sits between the historic town of Richmond and the picturesque town of Reeth in North Yorkshire. Lovingly converted from an old agricultural building into a small but luxurious holiday home, The Little Barn offers couples the perfect rural retreat away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life. This quaint and pretty stone building stands at the end of its own track, ensuring you’re guaranteed peace and tranquility. With miles of wonderful countryside on your doorstep, guests can spend the day out exploring this beautiful part of the country before retiring back to their cosy, comfy holiday home.

This charming home has a pretty open plan kitchen and living area with whitewashed walls, a rustic wooden floor and some stylish fittings. The kitchen is kitted out with a cooker and hob, as well as a fridge and a Lavazza coffee machine. There’s a dining table for two, ensuring you can enjoy a romantic home cooked meal with a bottle of wine. The living space has a sofa, a rocking chair and a flat screen TV, perfect for evenings in after days out walking. Choose from a selection of books or hook your phone up to the bluetooth speaker system and listen to music as you relax by the wood burning stove in winter.

Next to the living room, separated by an oak sliding barn door, sits the bedroom. The bespoke handmade bed has been built using reclaimed wood, features crips white bed linen and makes the most of the space. There’s two big drawers underneath for extra storage and you also have an adjoining cupboard for your luggage. The full-length glass doors in both the living space and the bedroom offer nice views out onto the countryside. There’s also an en suite wet room that has everything you’ll need as well as some nice white fully towels and complimentary toiletries.

Step outside onto the lawned area or make the most of the gravelled seating space, the perfect spot for a summer breakfast or early evening drink as the sun begins to set. Guests can also make use of the new wood-fired pizza oven and create their own delicious pizzas to enjoy with their loved ones. Wander to the back of the property and stand on the stone flagged patio gazing out over the moorland and beyond. Lovers of the great outdoors can venture out and explore the wonderful countryside that surrounds The Little Barn. You could walk to Reeth, a charming market town with a variety of shops, pubs and cafes. Or venture further afield and walk around Swaledale or Arkengarthdale, where there are some lovely walks with the odd country pub along the way. Guests can also head out cycling, and enjoy some great routes including the Buttertubs Pass, which offers a challenging hill climb. Be sure to explore some of the nearby market towns too, which offer great cafes, restaurants and pubs. Bedale, Leyburn and Northallerton are the pick of the area.

Just back from a week at the Little Barn, it is ideal for a getaway from everything as no wifi or mobile signal. The Proseco and extras that Rebecca left for our arrival was a very nice surprise and we will definitely be back sometime in the future.

An absolutely gorgeous little place! We have just returned from a three night stay and the Little Barn had everything we could have wished for. The perfect place to recharge and get away from everything. Cosy, comfortable and absolutely beautiful inside. Rebecca is the most wonderful host and we would stay again in a heartbeat! Alice & Jake

The Little Barn is an absolute DREAM! You will not regret coming to stay here. We had a lovely 4 night romantic stay here and will definitely be coming back. Rebecca has done such a fantastic job renovating The Little Barn and you have all of the facilities you could possibly need. I could talk about this place till the cows come home and will be recommending it to all my friends and family. Just book it and experience the Smooooth Chill ;-)

What a little gem! We had a lovely time in The Little Barn, it has everything you would ever need to have a nice relaxing stay, and more! The barn has been lovingly converted into a warm and cosy tiny house, and the attention to detail is incredible. Rebecca must have a PhD in hospitality because it was second to none! The walk to Reeth is stunning, and we extended it to Langthwaite which we would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Arkengarthdale more. We could have easily stayed a week or more. Thanks Rebecca!

Great stay here on a sunny August weekend. The barn is very well equipped, and felt spacious inside for its size. Beautiful scenery, very peaceful and perfect for walking. Best cooker we have ever used in self catering properties and the little touches like the Prosecco, eggs, cheese etc were much appreciated, along with the much used coffee machine. Communication from the owner, Rebecca was excellent. Would recommend to anyone who likes being a little bit off the beaten track but close to good walks. Would imagine it would also be very cosy in winter.

Absolutely amazing get away in The Little Barn. The barn is decked out with everything you could need, lovely little touch of fizz and local produce left by Rebecca too! Had great fun exploring the heath right outside and the wider Swaledale area. Would highly recommend and will be back again ourselves!

Amazing get away in a stunning setting. The Little Barn is a perfect place to get away from everything and relax. Small but perfectly formed, the kitchen has everything you need and there are amazing views from everywhere inside. Even during a weekend of wind, rain and snow, inside was cozy and warm - a perfect place to return to after a day of walking. Rebecca had left some delicious gifts which were also very welcomed. We would definitely recommend The Little Barn and hope to return one day!

We had a lovely time staying at The Little Barn. It is situated in a very pretty location and is ideal for a tranquil escape, especially due to the lack of wifi and mobile signal. We were able to totally switch off and enjoy exploring the local area. The Barn had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and cosy, even though it was freezing outside. The treats provided were an unexpected bonus and gratefully received. Thank you for a great stay.

A fabulous cosy little place. Perfect for a great getaway from it all time. Beautifully converted with lots of nice thoughtful touches. A couple of surprise welcome gifts and is extremely well equipped. Beautiful position in the dales but walking distance (albeit quite a long walk) to Reeth and a few nice pubs. Highly recommended!!

We spent four days in The Little Barn and had the most wonderful time, starting with the complimentary goodies left by the owner which provided the warmest of welcomes. The property offers a cosy, romantic interior, and makes the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the world. Lots of fantastic walking to be done in the area, and lots of great places to eat, but if you just fancy hiding away from the world for a few days then The Little Barn is the perfect choice. A place to nourish the soul.

A beautifully converted barn, built and furnished with great love. It was cosy and comfortable.Generous in so many ways! Loads of delicious goodies for us on arrival and freshly picked golden daffodils in the window. Loved all the inspirational books about similar and very different conversion projects. The barn must be a treasure to own and is a pleasure to stay in!

A stunning, magical hideaway in the Yorkshire Dales. This perfect little getaway is quaint and we'll equipped for any occasion. We went as a couple and had the most beautiful time despite the grey drizzly weather. The location is idyllic and tucked away near the peaceful little village of Hurst. It's walking distance from some great walks and the little barn has everything you need to indulge in the blissful quiet of the Yorkshire countryside. It was the touches however that made it extra special though; homemade lemon curd in the fridge, prosecco, a coffee maker and even marshmallows and toasting sticks!! We utilised the fire pit too and had some lovely evenings sitting by the flames and enjoying a nice bottle of wine over dinner. All topped off with amazing hosts who even provided everything ypu could possibly need from walking guides and books to toiletries and fresh towels. We definitely be back for anothwr little escape soon! Thank you so much for this special adventure, Love and Light Gracie and Sam Ps The bed was a dream to sleep in!

Enjoyed a great short break here amidst an endless landscape in gorgeous weather. A choice of private seating/eating areas outside with great views and packed with good stuff inside, from stylish, comfortable and practical features to informative books on the local area. All you need for a walking, doing nothing or sightseeing holiday. And 5 sheep turn up at approx 6pm on a Tuesday to cut the grass; I assume that’s a regular thing!

This is the most wonderful get away from it all break. It is spotlessly clean, the bed is huge and so comfy with crisp white sheets and gorgeous fluffy towels. We were left a bottle of prosecco, luxury chocolate and eggs from the owners hens! There is a wonderful coffee machine that makes the best espresso. We had gorgeous weather and so had a wonderful BBQ, the cows in the field behind came to say hello and we wrapped ourselves in blankets as the sun set and the stars came out. The whole experience was fantastic. We highly recommend staying here.
