The Detail...
This quirky and comfy bolthole sits between the historic town of Richmond and the picturesque town of Reeth in North Yorkshire. Lovingly converted from an old agricultural building into a small but luxurious holiday home, The Little Barn offers couples the perfect rural retreat away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life. This quaint and pretty stone building stands at the end of its own track, ensuring you’re guaranteed peace and tranquility. With miles of wonderful countryside on your doorstep, guests can spend the day out exploring this beautiful part of the country before retiring back to their cosy, comfy holiday home.
This charming home has a pretty open plan kitchen and living area with whitewashed walls, a rustic wooden floor and some stylish fittings. The kitchen is kitted out with a cooker and hob, as well as a fridge and a Lavazza coffee machine. There’s a dining table for two, ensuring you can enjoy a romantic home cooked meal with a bottle of wine. The living space has a sofa, a rocking chair and a flat screen TV, perfect for evenings in after days out walking. Choose from a selection of books or hook your phone up to the bluetooth speaker system and listen to music as you relax by the wood burning stove in winter.
Next to the living room, separated by an oak sliding barn door, sits the bedroom. The bespoke handmade bed has been built using reclaimed wood, features crips white bed linen and makes the most of the space. There’s two big drawers underneath for extra storage and you also have an adjoining cupboard for your luggage. The full-length glass doors in both the living space and the bedroom offer nice views out onto the countryside. There’s also an en suite wet room that has everything you’ll need as well as some nice white fully towels and complimentary toiletries.
Step outside onto the lawned area or make the most of the gravelled seating space, the perfect spot for a summer breakfast or early evening drink as the sun begins to set. Wander to the back of the property and stand on the stone flagged patio gazing out over the moorland and beyond. Lovers of the great outdoors can venture out and explore the wonderful countryside that surrounds The Little Barn. You could walk to Reeth, a charming market town with a variety of shops, pubs and cafes. Or venture further afield and walk around Swaledale or Arkengarthdale, where there are some lovely walks with the odd country pub along the way. Guests can also head out cycling, and enjoy some great routes including the Buttertubs Pass, which offers a challenging hill climb. Be sure to explore some of the nearby market towns too, which offer great cafes, restaurants and pubs. Bedale, Leyburn and Northallerton are the pick of the area.

Reviews
Have you stayed at The Little Barn?
Leave a review for this propertyThe Barn had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and cosy, even though it was freezing outside. The treats provided were an unexpected bonus and gratefully received.
Thank you for a great stay."
We went as a couple and had the most beautiful time despite the grey drizzly weather.
The location is idyllic and tucked away near the peaceful little village of Hurst.
It's walking distance from some great walks and the little barn has everything you need to indulge in the blissful quiet of the Yorkshire countryside.
It was the touches however that made it extra special though; homemade lemon curd in the fridge, prosecco, a coffee maker and even marshmallows and toasting sticks!! We utilised the fire pit too and had some lovely evenings sitting by the flames and enjoying a nice bottle of wine over dinner.
All topped off with amazing hosts who even provided everything ypu could possibly need from walking guides and books to toiletries and fresh towels.
We definitely be back for anothwr little escape soon!
Thank you so much for this special adventure,
Love and Light
