Perched right on a shimmering and glassy lake in the heart of rural Surrey, The Lakehouse at Cudworth Manor is a beautiful cottage-style waterfront house, ideal for families, friends and couples who are looking to spend time in a secluded and picturesque area of Southern England. Offering everything you need for a romantic, social or family-orientated time away, The Lakehouse at Cudworth Manor is the ultimate holiday destination.
Inside, the property benefits from the same lake-house aesthetic as the exterior, with a cosy charm and warm design. The main living space is open plan, with heat and a sense of comfort coming from the engineered wood-burning stove, just opposite the low-slung soft sofa, creating an ambient and sociable spot to relax in the colder months, watching the television. As well as the stove, there is also central heating throughout, and an on-demand hot-water heater, so you never have to wait for the shower.
The property comfortably sleeps three guests, between a double bedroom and a smaller room set up with a single bed, both of which share a single shower and lavatory room. The kitchen boasts a comprehensive range of facilities, including a four-burner hob and oven, with an extractor hood overhead, plus a microwave and Nespresso brand coffee machine. With several shops in easy walking distance, you have all of the groceries you need for a series of slap-up meals cooked in the comfort of your very own lake-house. Enjoy your meals at the table inside or sat out on the terrace on the water as the sun sets. As far as entertainment is concerned, there is full Wi-Fi throughout the property, as well as a Sky-enabled television with the full sports package.
The Lakehouse at Cudworth Manor is ideally located for a number of the key attractions in the Southeast, with Gatwick Airport and the edgy nightlife of Brighton easily accessible by car or train. That said, despite the proximity of great shopping, dining, and various outdoor and aquatic sporting activities nearby, most guests staying at the house tend to remain on and around the lake itself. With your own private wooden terrace overlooking the lake, you're free to spend your days fishing, dipping your toes in the water, or simply relaxing out of doors with your friends, family or partner. There really is nothing quite like drinking a cold beer on the terrace as you watch the sun set behind the lake after coming back from a long day hiking the Surrey countryside.

Leave a reviewHad a 4 night stay at the Lakehouse recently and everything about it was top quality. Jo is a great host and all comms were good. The Lakehouse itself is fantastic. Great decor, well looked after and very comfy. Huge patio area, which we did not unfortunately get to use due to the poor weather but the flipside of that was we spent a fair bit of time in the Lakehouses own pub! What a great idea this is and if you enjoy your sport you will be in heaven! Being woken on occassions by the swans wanting their breakfast added to the enchantment of the stay. Looking forward to booking again for next year.

We stayed at the idyllic Lakehouse for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing and the facilities were second to none. The attached Cudworth Arms with honesty bar was such a novel addition and pleased my husband no end ! The owners were attentive and helpful and genuinely lovely. Would recommend nearby RHS Wisley and the Anchor pub at Pyrford lock for a pint with a view. Many thanks Jo.

The Lake House is a little bit of Heaven. Area was beautiful, views over the lake stunning. Jo the Owner was so kind and helpful showing us around giving us information, nothing was to much trouble. The House had everything you would want, so many lovely little touches. Watching and feeding the swans and geese was so sweet. The boat on the Lake a real gem and fun. Your very own pub is a fantastic idea. Local pub Six Bells was a easy walk and great food. Loved it so much that we have booked again for next year.

What an amazing place. So beautiful and relaxing. The beds are soooo comfortable, going to miss them. The bar is incredible and all on site. The boat is fun and plenty of wildlife. Jo is an amazing host, giving us lots of useful information and making sure we had everything we needed. The Lake house is such an amazing place. Even if you don't go anywhere, the Lake House has everything you need to keep you entertained. We took our dog and he had the chance to run around in a safe environment. When we arrived Jo showed us around and left us with some lovely treats. I've told family and friends about the lake house and they have said the photos we have taken are awesome. Thanks Jo for such a lovely week xx

We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog Benny and wished we had booked it for a bit longer. It was such an idyllic setting and so relaxing. A real treat for our first holiday since covid began. We had some family visit us while we were there and they all were in awe of the place. It's really beautiful especially waking up to the view of the lake and the swans and ducks waiting for you to feed them.

Perfect location to switch off and unwind. The deck over the lake is a lovely place to sit and read or watch the swans float by. Furnishings are comfortable, big squishy sofas and a lovely comfortable bed.

Had the most amazing long weekend at the lakehouse. Jo is the welcoming host and treated us with warmth and wonderful treats. Had a fabulous time and even caught some fish! Got my first 13.4lb carp which delighted my husband! The perfect holiday before a holiday and can't wait to return!

Best long weekend away! The Lake House is absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay and couldn't have asked for any more from the property or from Jo the host. A short drive from Denbies wine estate, pubs, restaurants and other amenities, but also being in such a quiet beautiful place was exactly what we wanted. The level of care and attention to detail shown from Jo the host was unbelievable and really made the stay magical. The Cudworth Arms was perfect for nights in - what a touch to have your own pub! I couldn't recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back in the future.
