The detail

Rural calm awaits at The Hollins Barn in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. This lovingly converted 19th century barn is the perfect spot for a tranquil retreat. Steeped in history, The Hollins has been thoughtfully converted to preserve its rich heritage. Here, rustic luxury intertwines with nature - try a spot of wild swimming or enjoy a game of tennis on the private court. Unwind with a bathtub soak taking in the stunning vistas, glass of bubbly in hand. Situated down a mile-long track, The Hollins offers privacy and tranquility.

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast in the bright and spacious, fully-equipped kitchen, where rustic charm and modern amenities meet. Enjoy cool drinks on warm days courtesy of the large fridge, with integrated ice maker, and rustle up a meal in the hand-crafted Everhot cooker.

French doors lead from the kitchen onto a spacious terrace with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Embrace alfresco life over a long lunch or apéritif, making precious holiday memories.

Time to settle in for the night after a day's adventure? Snuggle up on the L-shaped sofa in the cosy lounge. Curl up in front of the wood burner and listen to the crackling fire, gathering for a movie night on the 42" smart TV.

A short corridor leads to the sumptuous large hall with a wooden and glass walkway linking the two ends of the house upstairs. The intimate Bunk Room connects to the hall and features a super-king size base and a single bed space above, making it ideal for couples or children. A shower and loo and utility room are also located on this floor.

Upstairs, two large bedrooms are connected by the stunning walkway. Sleep soundly in super-king size beds, found in all of the barn's main bedrooms. The aptly named Diamond Room with four-poster bed gives an insight into the past, with its diamond windows once serving as ventilation slits. The Tank Room bedroom at the opposite end of the walkway provides ample room for a comfortable stay.

In-between the two bedrooms are the walkway, bathroom and landing with a double sofa-bed. Take a blissful soak in the double-ended slipper bath as you gaze out over the rolling hills.

Love being outdoors? Plunge into the water from the jetty and feel the freedom of open-air swimming in the large natural pond. While away the afternoon with a game of tennis, or stroll in the beautiful wild flower meadows. Discover a range of activities in and around the area, including hiking trails, natural lakes and wildlife. Explore the medieval town of Shrewsbury with its historic sites and plethora of bars and restaurants just a 20-minute drive away.
