This 17th Century converted Hayloft makes for a romantic and cool base from which to discover the wilds of Dartmoor while enjoying the convenience and comforts of a pretty Devonshire town - Ashburton.
The Hayloft is rustic and quirky, yet traditional, stylish and comfortable, offering you a great place to rest and refresh after a day on the wild moors. The studio-for-two has been lovingly renovated to an extremely high standard and caters for your every need.
Tasteful paintings and prints adorn the walls, while tongue-and-groove panelling and exposed, painted stonework are found throughout. Oak beams, candelabras and beautiful orchids enhance the chic atmosphere.
The sleeping area overlooks the private terrace which offers hillside views which can be enjoyed from the luxury of the beautifully made-up double bed. It is discreetly separated from the rest of the studio by a tongue-and-groove room divider offering privacy but ensuring the studio maintains a light and spacious feel.
The modern, immaculate, kitchen includes all the conveniences you could possibly need including a Nespresso machine. Upstairs is a cosy snug, resplendent with smart tv, deep sofa, blankets and a wood burner for those cosy nights in.
At the end of those long, balmy days exploring the moors or the stunning South Devon coastline, sink into The Hayloft's deep 'bateau' bath, and take advantage of the property's well-stocked honesty bar, indulging in a glass of Prosecco or two.
Situated on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, The Hayloft offers the perfect opportunity for experiencing this spectacular area of the English countryside which has inspired classic British authors including Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan-Doyle. Pull on your walking boots, pack a picnic and feel the wind blow away the rigours of the everyday routine. You can also enjoy listening to the birdsong whilst getting up close and personal with the famous wild ponies in this breathtaking countryside. You can even saddle-up and taking a horse riding trip, or hop on a mountain bike, and explore the tors, mines and caves.
The Hayloft is situated just a short stroll from the centre of charming Ashburton, well-known for its antique shops but also home to some lovely delis, bakeries, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, while nearby Totnes boasts a famously independent and popular High Street.

WOW! Where do I begin, this property is absolutely stunning and perfect for a romantic getaway. We stayed for 4 nights and it was absolutely perfect and gave us the relaxation that we both needed from our busy schedules. The early check-in was greatly appreciated due to the 300 miles we traveled and to be greeted with fresh bread, milk and eggs certainly went down a treat before heading in to town to stock the fridge up for our break. Ashburton is a quiet town with many antique shops but there is plenty more to do in the surrounding area's, we visited Totnes and Torquay, both within a 30 minute drive. We certainly took in the views from the terrace of the converted hayloft which was just breathtaking, the area was so peaceful, we spend a considerable amount of time just relaxing at the property. Sadly we didn't go an any of the many recommended walks but we are saving these for our next visit, we love the area and will definitely be back. Sarah & Joe are a lovely couple and are very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and suggestions on how best to enjoy your time in Devon. Thank you.

Our stay in The Hayloft was absolutely fantastic, we can’t fault it, on arrival we had a wonderfully warm welcome from the owners. It was immaculately clean and the owners had thought of everything. Beautifully decorated and furnished, the bed was amazing, so comfortable!! As for the bath, perfect to relax in after a long day. Great location for a short drive to the coast and Dartmoor National Park. We would highly recommend a visit and hope that we can return in the not too distant future????????????xx
