Nestled within the tranquil Alkham Valley, close to the charming coastal town of Folkestone, you'll discover a captivating luxury cottage exuding character and showcasing an abundance of period features. What sets this property apart is its unique blend of rural seclusion and proximity to the sea, coupled with the remarkable gardens and idyllic countryside vistas that extend across acres of land adjacent to the main manor house.
Immerse yourself in the warmth and gracious hospitality of the original gatehouse cottage, thoughtfully designed to accommodate two to four guests. The crowning jewel of this haven is undoubtedly the master bedroom's inviting roll-top bath, offering a panoramic view of the meticulously manicured gardens of the estate - a place where romance and relaxation intertwine in your private sanctuary.
The Gate House accommodates up to four people and boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a comfortable reception room, an inviting patio and lush gardens. Parking is available on the drive, and you can even fire up the BBQ for outdoor dining. Additionally, access to shared tennis courts can be arranged for your enjoyment.
As you step inside, you'll find the ground floor inviting you in, leading to the staircase that ascends to the upper bedrooms. The living space welcomes you with seating for four to six individuals, complemented by a cosy log-burning fireplace and a smart screen TV. The kitchen, partially open plan, is situated around the corner, featuring an electric oven, hob, extractor fan, a built-in tall fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven. An adjacent dining area comfortably seats four, and a convenient shower room, discreetly positioned behind the kitchen, offers a WC and a shower cubicle.
Moving to the first floor, accessible via the front hallway, you'll encounter the master double room, accommodating two guests in a king size bed. The ensuite bathroom adds a touch of romance to your stay with its open design, a glass divide, a WC, sink and a roll-top bath that grants you beautiful garden views. An additional twin bedroom, with two single beds, completes the sleeping arrangements, featuring a chest of drawers and hanging hooks.
Outside, the cottage boasts a wraparound garden area, though it's not fully enclosed. The garden leads to a secluded, sun-soaked patio equipped with a table and chairs for four, where a carefully crafted hedge offers a "peak gap" that frames picturesque countryside views. You'll also find a coal BBQ for outdoor culinary adventures and parking space for two cars on the drive.
Nestled in an idyllic countryside setting, this location offers the perfect balance of rural tranquility while being just a stone's throw from the coastal towns of Dover and Folkestone, and the historic city of Canterbury.
Dover, located less than a couple of miles from here, is renowned for its iconic Dover Castle. Additionally, visitors can enjoy exhilarating cliff-top walks leading to the lighthouse and explore the natural beauty of Samphire Hoe, a nature park ideal for family adventures and much more.
