Perched on the sprawling and historic Rousdon Estate with views of the glittering sea and surrounding rural landscapes, The Garden House is a spectacular self-catering house on the Jurassic Coast with space for up to 12 guests between six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Boasting high-end, contemporary amenities throughout and nestled in hundreds of acres of gardens, lawns, and woodlands, the Garden House is the ultimate spot for a family getaway and offers a no compromises holiday in the stunning coastal idylls of southern Dorset.
The house itself is arranged around a unique double height conservatory with a sea-facing mezzanine with views of Lyme Bay, equipped with a mounted telescope for stargazing. On the ground floor you’ll find a spacious central kitchen with stainless steel surfaces, modern appliances and everything you’ll need to whip up sumptuous 12 person meals every night. Eat at the custom-built Dinesen dining table or on the south facing terrace, looking out at the views with a glass of cold white wine. The beautiful living room comes with a flat screen TV, three sofas ready to sink into, and French doors opening out onto the terrace area, shielded by a glass awning.
Also outside there is a large lawned garden, complete with a hammock and some sun loungers, offering you and your loved ones the chance to soak up the rays on warm sunny days. You'll also find plenty of garden and indoor games to keep kids of all ages entertained.
When it comes to bed time, three of the bedrooms are en-suite, set up with two super king sized beds and a king sized bed respectively, with two more offering twin single beds, and the final set up with a versatile super king/twin single arrangement.
Everything in Garden House has been designed and conceived to maximise the light and vistas from the coast, creating an airy collection of rooms bathed in sunlight, offering majestic views. For multi-generational family groups and parties of young professionals where guests are looking to work as well as relax, the Garden House is spacious enough for multiple activities to take place simultaneously.
Despite being set in 350 acres of private estate, Garden House is ideally located for access to Lyme Regis with its burgeoning fish and seafood restaurants, including the Michelin listed Robin Wylde, as well as the nationally celebrated River Cottage and of course Hix Oyster and Fish Restaurant. As well as excellent seafood and fish restaurants, the region is celebrated for its culture, charming local pubs and independent shops.
