The Folly combines rural charm with contemporary luxury near Bude, in North Cornwall. With its gorgeous interiors, hot tub, inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove and peaceful, private setting, this cottage makes a wonderful getaway for up to five people.
As you approach The Folly, you’ll find a typical Cornish farm cottage, with pretty white painted stone walls and a slate tile roof. Inside, the characterful property is newly refurbished to the highest standards, with period features, such as the inglenook fireplace, stained glass windows and wooden beams combining stylishly with contemporary and luxurious design and furnishings.
As you enter the cottage you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, Tassimo coffee machine and Bluetooth speaker. Take your meals to the lovely sunny dining room with its solid wooden table for six.
The living room makes the perfect space for cosy evenings in, with two comfy button-back leather sofas, a TV with Amazon Fire TV Stick (using guest’s own accounts) and a Clearview log burner set within a beautiful granite inglenook fireplace. There's also an office/snug on the ground floor and a shower room with a power shower, WC and sink.
On the first floor you’ll find three stylishly decorated bedrooms and a family bathroom. The main bedroom, with artisanal lampshades and pictures, features a solid wooden super king-sized bed with a notably comfortable Emma mattress, a half wardrobe with drawers and a dressing table. The final two bathrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a single, both also have Emma mattresses and chests of drawers. A quirky family bathroom with WC, sink and bath sits under the eaves of this lovely cottage.
The star of the show at The Folly is the garden. The cottage sits in a 1/3 acre of private land with panoramic views over grassy valleys, woodlands and the sea. A hot tub is perfectly positioned to unwind and watch sunsets and the stylish concrete fire bowl provides a sociable space to gather and toast marshmallows.
The Folly is situated on a working farm with its own coarse fishing lakes. The cottage is a 15 minute drive from the small coastal town of Bude, with its fab beach, shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Some beautiful beaches and pretty fishing villages can also be found a short drive away.
