Sitting in the heart of a beautiful Lake District farm, this Grade II listed home has been lovingly restored to create a charming and luxurious retreat for groups of up to five. Dating back to 1620, this historic farmhouse oozes rustic and traditional charm, whilst modern touches ensure you are afforded ample luxury during your stay.
Gather with your loved ones in the open-plan living area, where you’ll find low ceilings, exposed beams and a dark wood floor that create a sense of homely, rural charm. A striking fireplace keeps things toasty and warm, whilst a big L-shaped sofa and comfy armchairs ensure you can sit together and catch up over a drink. There’s also a 55 inch LG smart TV for movie nights or box set marathons.
Off the lounge area is a modern kitchen that's nicely equipped with everything you need to cook delicious meals during your stay. The kitchen features a giant island, where you can perch with a drink in hand as your loved one prepares dinner. There’s also a Nespresso (Virtuo) coffee machine for your morning caffeine fix.
When dinner is ready, take your meals on the dining table that sits in the open-plan space next to some windows that offer lovely natural light. Or, if the sun’s shining, dine alfresco on the rattan dining furniture in the courtyard garden. Also outside is a radiant heater and a BBQ, which offers you the chance to grill up some delicious local produce in the fresh Lakeland air. Just beyond, your private garden opens up to sweeping, uninterrupted views across the Vale of Grasmere - perfect for soaking up the final golden rays and the shifting colours of the landscape.
When night falls, head upstairs where there are three beautifully styled bedrooms, each a calming haven with crisp white linens, fluffy towels and luxe Pure Lakes toiletries. The spacious master comes with a super-king bed (or twins if you prefer), stunning fell views from two big windows and a dreamy ensuite with a deep soak tub and rain shower.
The second super-king bedroom (also split-able) offers more fell views and a sleek ensuite with an epic rain head shower. The third is a charming single with views over the farm. While there’s no full family bathroom, a shared WC with a washer-dryer and heated towel rail adds convenience. There is also space for an extra child to sleep on a fold-out Z-bed if needed.
Just a stroll from Grasmere, The Yan at Broadrayne is your perfect Lake District base - ideal for hiking, biking, wild swimming or simply unwinding with stunning fell views. Walk straight from the door to Helm Crag or Easedale Tarn, dip in nearby lakes and waterfalls or explore scenic cycling trails. After adventure, enjoy cosy pubs, artisan cafés and Wordsworth’s Grasmere.
