The details
Perched overlooking the sea in the charming town of Ventnor on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, The Crow’s Nest is a romantic beachside hideaway for couples. This beautiful cedar cabin is set in the hillside above the town’s golden sandy beach and almost has the feel of a treehouse. The interior is inspired by Japanese design and you can open up bi-fold windows along two sides to let in some of that sea air and enjoy the view. After a refreshing dip in the sea and a morning exploring Ventnor and its botanic gardens, relax on the balcony as a late lunch sizzles away on the BBQ. This is also the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets over the sea and then stargaze late into the evening.
Step inside and you’ll find yourself in a small lobby area with a handy cloakroom to one side. The lobby leads to the main area of the cabin where you’ll immediately be drawn to the huge window with uninterrupted views out to the horizon. The luxurious king size bed is set in front of this view so you can sit up in the morning with a cup of coffee and soak it all up. To one side of the room, you’ll find a kitchenette with everything you’ll need to get you going in the mornings and a mini fridge where you can keep some supplies ready for the BBQ. To the other side, there are bi-fold doors that lead straight out onto the balcony. You’ll find sun loungers and outdoor dining furniture waiting for you, all in prime position for enjoying that view.
There’s a rainfall shower and Sea Kelp toiletries are provided along with fluffy towels, robes and slippers. To the rear of the cabin, there’s a hot tub in a secluded cabana hut overlooking the beach, the perfect way to relax after a swim in the sea or a day exploring the island.
If you can tear yourself away from your sun lounger on the balcony, there’s plenty of exploring to do. There's a beautiful coastal path heading west. Discover secret beaches on your way to the picturesque Steephill Cove or explore the Ventnor Botanic Garden, home to a wide array of exotic plants. Head up to Ventnor Downs for some great hiking trails with panoramic views of the coastline or hunt for fossils down on the beaches. Ventnor is known as a foodie hotspot so there are plenty of cafes and superb restaurants within walking distance, serving up fresh seafood or get a takeaway straight from Ventnor Haven Fishery.
