Stunning Kentish barn with panoramic countryside views and hot tub just a stroll from historic Canterbury.
Welcome to The Canterbury Barn, a truly impressive group retreat where soaring ceilings, oak beams and sweeping countryside views set the scene for unforgettable gatherings. This vast yet welcoming Kentish barn combines traditional character with modern comfort, offering space, style and a rare sense of freedom just outside the historic heart of Canterbury.
Step inside and you are greeted by a huge open-plan living space designed with large groups in mind. The kitchen is a dream for keen cooks and caterers alike, with a range cooker, multiple ovens, generous fridges and dishwashers making light work of feeding a crowd. A long farmhouse-style dining table becomes the natural hub of the house, perfect for celebratory feasts, milestone birthdays or relaxed family meals that stretch late into the evening. Sink into deep sofas in one of the two generous living areas, each with Smart TVs and plenty of room to spread out, chat and unwind.
Across two floors, the barn sleeps up to 20 guests in seven bedrooms plus an additional sofa bed, making it ideal for extended families, hen parties or special occasions. Bedrooms range from cosy doubles and twins to large family rooms, with flexible layouts that suit mixed-age groups. There are multiple bathrooms and shower rooms, underfloor heating on the lower floor and gas central heating throughout, ensuring comfort whatever the season.
Outside, the south-facing terrace is made for long summer afternoons, with space to dine alfresco, fire up the BBQ or relax in the hot tub as the sun dips over the Kent countryside. There is also access to a tennis court, adding a playful edge to your stay, while children and dogs will love the sense of space and fresh air.
One of The Canterbury Barn’s biggest draws is its location. Despite its peaceful rural setting, you are less than a 20-minute walk from the cobbled streets of Canterbury, where you can explore the cathedral, browse independent shops or settle into cosy pubs and wine bars. Venture further afield to the seaside charm of Whitstable, the market town of Faversham or even hop on a high-speed train into London for the day. Whether you are celebrating, reconnecting or simply escaping together, this is a barn that delivers on every level.
The Canterbury Barn is listed by the managing agent Bloom Stays.
