The Details

The Carpenters Cabin is a luxury, unique, private space nestled within the tranquil unspoiled Dorset countryside. Perfectly situated just 10 minutes from Dorchester, the quaint County Town of Dorset the cabin is also only a few miles from the sea and several award-winning beaches.

Within the main space, everything has been thought of. The oh-so-comfy king size bed will allow you the opportunity for a great night's sleep and you can wake to unforgettable morning views. The stylish log burner will keep you warm and cosy, while for ease, radiators are also provided. Stylish décor includes a sofa for two, where you may choose one of the board games or books to help you digitally detox.

If your relaxation includes devices, The Cabin has its own excellent WiFi, along with mains electricity and USB charging points. Meanwhile, a fully-equipped covered kitchen provides plenty of scope for fine al fresco dining, with a two-ring gas hob, full oven and grill, fridge-freezer.

Between the views, the tranquillity, lounging in the sun or cosying in blankets under the stars, guests often struggle to leave. For those looking to venture out, you will find an award-winning local vineyard, award-winning Sculpture by the Lakes and the world-famous Jurassic Coast beaches. Weymouth is 15 minutes’ drive, with Lulworth Cove and Durdle Dor both 20 minutes away. The Carpenters Cabin is situated 40 metres from a separate cabin. Really loved staying at Carpenters Cabin - private, lovely views, really enjoyed the silence and sitting around the fire pit in the evening with a glass of wine. Romantic place! Fantastic location in one of the most beautiful areas I know. Interactions with Fiona were easy, quick, and very friendly.

We had the most wonderful short stay at this secluded cabin. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful atmosphere—tucked away from the noise of everyday life, yet thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for comfort. The cabin itself was spotless, cozy, and beautifully maintained, with little touches that made it feel extra welcoming. Waking up to birdsong and enjoying coffee on the porch while taking in the surrounding trees felt like stepping into another world. Evenings were just as special, the use of the fire pit creating the perfect backdrop for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Though it felt perfectly remote, I never once felt isolated—the hosts provided clear directions, quick communication, and had everything ready for a smooth and stress-free stay. If you’re looking for a refreshing break in nature where you can truly slow down, breathe deeply, and recharge, this cabin is a hidden gem. We only wish we could have stayed longer, and I’m already looking forward to returning! Also to recommend a trip to Langhams Vineyard, 10mins up the road and only a short distance from either Dorchester or Weymouth should you wish for a bit more noise.
