The Bosk B&B

Set in the heart of the Breamish Valley, The Bosk B&B provides a cosy retreat for couples looking to explore the stunning countryside of Northumberland. Wake up in your sumptuous super-king size bed and enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared using ingredients from the local butcher before setting out on a long walk through the rolling hills and picturesque villages that dot the landscape. You’ll also have access to an indoor swimming pool and a spa, the perfect way to unwind after a day’s exploring.

There are three luxurious rooms to choose from, all named after plants native to Northumberland. They are Bilberry, Coltsfoot and Cranesbill. Bilberry is the largest of the three with a gorgeous freestanding bath in the bathroom. This is the perfect spot to relax after a long walk or a day’s sightseeing before heading downstairs for a drink at the bar. The room is furnished in relaxing blues, reminiscent of the dark berries it’s named after and features a comfy sofa where you can curl up with a book.

Coltsfoot is a little smaller but offers plenty in the way of style with its beautiful tiles in the wet room and pops of bright yellow in the soft furnishings. The room is filled with natural light through the skylights and the bed can be split into twin beds if you prefer. Cranesbill is of a similar size and the soft colour palette and sloping ceiling create a cosy atmosphere in the evenings, perfect after a day of exploring and dinner in the restaurant downstairs.

Guests have free access to facilities such as an indoor swimming pool and a spa with a hot tub and a sauna. If you’re feeling energetic, you can go for a session in the state-of-the-art gym or the all-weather tennis court, just around the corner. After working up an appetite, head to the restaurant which is open Wednesday to Saturday night as well as doing Sunday lunches. Friday night is pizza night!

There’s plenty to explore in the area with the stunning Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National Park on the doorstep. Choose between a day by the seaside, a trip to a historic castle or a long walk through unspoilt countryside. Go for a stroll around the lake near the B&B or hop in the car and visit the stunning Ingram Valley and discover ancient hill forts and bronze age settlements. It’s just a 25-minute drive to the stunning Northumbrian coast with its big sweeping beaches and coastal paths. The magnificent Alnwick Castle and Garden is also just 15 minutes away in the car.
