This marvellous Grade II listed boathouse sits on the edge of a beautiful manmade lake in 10 acres of private land and offers plenty of comfort and vintage styling throughout. From the outside this property is grand as it perches by the water's edge, and once you step inside you're presented with charming old design touches such as rugs and leather chairs that combine nicely with modern amenities.
In summer spend time on the deck that sits next to the water. The deck features dining space for six, as well as brollies, benches, sun beds and more, meaning you can relax for hours with your loved ones in the peace and tranquility of nature. This is an ideal spot to enjoy your morning cuppa as well as a late evening sundowner. Guests can also enjoy a relaxing dip in their own private hot tub, the ideal place to unwind after a day out exploring the area.
Inside, The Boathouse has a spacious living room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame the view whilst letting in plenty of natural light. The lounge also has big, comfy leather chairs and a sofa that all sit around the wood-burning stove. The kitchen has all the amenities you need to cook for your group, whilst the attached dining space has room for six.
When it comes to sleeping, The Boathouse comfortably sleeps six across three lovely bedrooms. The master bedroom has a large en suite for added privacy, and is located on the first floor. This room has giant windows that face the lake, as well as a balcony so you can wake up and enjoy the breathtaking view whilst enjoying the fresh country air. The second and third bedrooms are situated up in the eaves and are both cute and cosy, guaranteeing you a great night's sleep. These two bedrooms also share a bathroom. There is also an outdoor office complete with WiFi, offering you a chance to catch up on your emails in peace. The property also has a large laundry with space for boots and coats.
Guests are also provided with a five metre aluminium punt with seating, oars, and a small electric motor. Be sure to row off to a secluded spot on the lake and drop anchor. You can then enjoy a picnic or a drink on the water, or spend some time fishing - there are four fishing rods as well as reels and tackle available. Furthermore, you're also given two paddle boards which can be converted into kayaks, allowing you to get out on the water and have fun. You're also provided with six life jackets (two large, two medium, and two small), but you will need to bring your own wetsuits. Once you're back on dry land you can then rinse off using the warm outdoor shower provided or jump into the relaxing hot hub with enough room for 6-8 people.
If you fancy spending some time on dry land then the outside lawns and gardens lead onto a one kilometre circular path that is great for morning strolls or jogging beside the lake or in the woods. Along the way you will see the bird hide, so avid birdwatchers can bring their binoculars and settle in to spot the resident birds that include the mute swan, duck, heron, grebes, coot, moorhen, kingfisher, and many more.
If you wish to venture further afield, then there's plenty to see and do. The Boathouse is located in the heart of Worcestershire, so the marvellous Malvern Hills are right on your doorstep, with many walking and cycling routes on offer. You are also not far from the charming cathedral city of Worcester that is home to some lovely historic spots as well as some great pubs and restaurants. And finally, about two miles from your door is the very pleasant town of Droitwich Spa which has ample shopping opportunities as well as big supermarkets including, Waitrose, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl.

Leave a reviewWhat a completely awesome week we have just spent at the Boathouse. An absolutely beautiful house in the most stunning setting; when we arrived and drove in through the gates, it felt like we had found our own piece of paradise away from the rest of the world. The house is beautifully furnished and incredibly well-equipped, it has everything you could possibly need and more. Our bedroom overlooking the lake was wonderful, so blissful and peaceful. We hardly ventured from the house during the week, we just had the most relaxing and fun time out on the lake.... paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, picnics in the boat... followed by BBQ and (very warm!) wood-fired hot tub. The boys absolutely loved it, we all completely relaxed for the first time in over a year. Our hosts Fiona and Ian were absolutely wonderful, and we are very grateful to them for sharing their fantastic home.... we are very keen to return next year and wish them all the luck with their new venture.

When choosing our staycation we were struck by The Boathouse's unique character and knew that this would be an ideal place for our family to reunite after a difficult year. From Fiona and Ian's warm personal welcome to a reluctant departure, every moment at The Boathouse was memorable. The house is immaculately presented with everything you could ever need for a luxurious stay. The main bedroom with en suite is absolutely beautiful with the added bonus of a private balcony overlooking the lake; all of the beds were comfortable with high standard bedding and high quality toiletries. The main draw of The Boathouse is its situation on the Big Pond, a private lake surrounded by woodland and overlooked by a tudor mansion house - a more perfect slice of England couldn't be imagined. The deck has its own wood-fired hot tub, outside cooking and dining area, sun loungers and an electric-powered punt for quiet trips around the lake. There are also kayaks/paddle boards with full protective equipment. The Boathouse is easy to find from the A38 and within easy reach of Droitwich Spa, Worcester, the Malvern Hills and Hereford: so if the weather isn't kind, there is plenty to do and see. Fiona and Ian are attentive hosts who have thought deeply about what people want when they are looking for a luxurious stay. We recommend The Boathouse without any hesitation and hope that we can return one day.

Just returned from a week's stay at the Boathouse. Lovely warm welcome from the hosts Fiona and Ian upon our arrival (and prior to our holiday). The property right on the Lake exceeded our expectations and what an escape from it all/back to nature experience. Simply stunning and we did not want to leave. The little touches within the home made it extra special and added to the overall wonderful experience.

Having travelled far and wide, it is not often that the real thing is SO MUCH BETTER in real life (and the pictures on this website are already fabulous). My family (3 teenagers) were blown away by this beautiful oasis of calm. Fiona and Ian have thought of everything you could need. The house is historic and stylish, warm and welcoming. The fact that you are on a private lake with a stunning view of Westwood House is the icing on the cake. We paddleboarded, and kayaked and water-skied. We found ourselves delighted by the ducks and geese and even tried some fishing. It was totally perfect. (so much so that we hardly went out!) Thanks to the owners for allowing us into this beautiful home.

We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!! Can't recommend more highly!! Xx
