The Details
Two adjoining barn conversions, linked by an interconnecting door, the Big Green Barn is ideal for family and friends.
New to the market for 2026, this double barn is located amid the peaceful fields of rural North Yorkshire, a few miles outside the little city of Ripon.
It consists of two properties, Wheatsheaf Barn and Field Cottage, both sleeping eight guests. Each is its own independent space with bedrooms, kitchen, living area, games room and hot tub, but joined by an internal door. Open it wide to come and go between the two houses as you please, or close up for a little quiet time. This makes it the space perfect for groups of friends and multi-generational getaways.
Wheatsheaf Barn is the larger of the two buildings. You'll find a light and airy living space, with large glass doors framing rolling country views. The furnishings are high-spec and luxurious, with a deep L-shaped sofa the perfect spot to put your feet up after a busy day.
Off the sociable living space is the dining area seating eight, and the sleek modern kitchen with its large American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, breakfast bar and all you need to make everything from your morning coffee to a delicious evening meal.
A practical boot room by the entrance provides space for coats, walking boots and outdoor kit. Leading off from here is a useful utility room, along with a convenient ground-floor WC.
Also on the ground floor is a separate snug, a cosy spot just right for reading or watching a film. There's also a games room with dart board, pool table and Smart TV.
For further relaxation, head outside to the large jacuzzi style hot tub, where you can take a soak amid bubbles and country views. The garden is fully enclosed, giving peace of mind for kids and furry friends. On summer days fire up the BBQ and catch some rays on the comfy outdoor seating.
When its time for bed, four deeply comfortable luxury king-size rooms beckon. The master bedroom has its own ensuite, while the remaining three rooms share the family bathroom. All beds can be configured as king-size or twins for added flexibility.
Next door Field Cottage is similar in feel and layout, but is slightly smaller than its neighbour. Instead of the separate snug, downstairs you'll find an ensuite king-size bedroom - useful for those with limited mobility.
Upstairs are a further three bedrooms, the master ensuite, two king-size rooms, plus the family bathroom. Bedrooms in both properties are fitted with high quality bed linen and the bathrooms are complete with towels and luxury toiletries,
Outside Field Cottage has a generous garden, its own hot tub set in a private spot, and plenty of outdoor seating. There is a gate between the two gardens which can be closed or open as you choose.
Beyond the garden, the glorious Yorkshire countryside unfurls. The pretty towns of Ripon, Thirsk and Marsham are within easy reach, and attractions such as Lightwater Valley Theme Park and the iconic Fountains Abbey are also nearby. About a mile from the property the Black Horse Inn is a good spot for lunch and a drink after a country stroll.
