The detail

This superbly located pub has 16 bedrooms, each with interiors inspired by the British countryside that surrounds the building. There are three different types of room to choose from, depending on the requirements of the guest.

There are small double bedrooms with cosy bathrooms; medium doubles with en-suites, many of which have views of landscaped gardens; and large doubles with spacious en-suites, comfortable sofas, and great views of the beautiful surroundings. The many different options means that whatever the guest is seeking, The Bath Arms can generally find a solution.

Each room has crisp cotton sheets, Siberian goose down duvets, and natural bath products. There is also WiFi, a TV and radio, and tea and coffee making facilities - while the price of all rooms includes a complimentary breakfast.

Downstairs the traditional country inn offers up a range of local ales at the oak stool lined bar, as well as a selection of other tipples - including classic cocktails, gin from nearby distilleries, and wine from their very own merchant. The unpretentious and unfussy menu is filled with culinary delights, made from seasonal Wiltshire produce. Whether wanting a long lunch or cosy dinner, it can be enjoyed in the restaurant or out in the sun-filled garden with a marquee.

Just 30 minutes from Bath and two hours from London, The Bath Arms is also conveniently located and there is plenty to do nearby. The inn itself is in the peaceful village of Horningsham, while Longleat Estate with its landscaped gardens, Elizabethan architecture, and famous safari park is right on the doorstep.

The stunning Georgian city of Bath is also worth exploring, with its independent shops, array of restaurants, and Roman Baths. The market town of Frome is another attraction close by, with its streets lined with great food and drink, antiques, and a market on the first Sunday of every month.
