Located on a working farm, The Barn offers a little slice of rural heaven. Inside you'll find snug contemporary interiors, while outside it's all about the hot tub and the far-reaching lookout over the fields to the distant hills of the Southern Uplands.
Head up the country track to Summerhill Farm, set in the rolling landscape of Dumfries and Galloway. Here, the Barn awaits you in its peaceful hillside location.
Step inside and you'll find an open plan living and sleeping area with huge floor-to-ceiling windows letting in the light and those incredible views. The sofa is perfectly placed to take in the scenery and you can sit and birdwatch in comfort, with red kites frequent visitors. Tucked behind the seating area is a big comfortable king-size bed, just right for a peaceful night at the end of a busy day.
The smart kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need - from a proper oven to the dishwasher, and the view from the kitchen sink is truly spectacular. The bright and clean bathroom is kitted out with a luxurious rainfall shower, perfect to wake you up first thing in the morning.
Outside the wraparound deck makes a lovely spot to sit and sip your coffee and make plans for the day ahead, while the private hot tub is ideal for soaking tired limbs and watching the sunset and the fantastic display of stars as evening comes.
For days out, the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway is on your doorstep. Visit Galloway Forest Park, a spectacular landscape which rivals any Cairngorms scenery. Go for a wild swim in the clear waters of nearby Loch Ken - and warm up again with a dram at the Dark Sky Distillery. Food-wise there are some excellent local pubs and restaurants within easy reach - try the Clachan Inn in St John's Town of Dalry, or for seafood, the Swally and Scran in Kirkcudbright.
