Located by the beach in the village of St Mawes, The Anchorage is a spacious five bedroom house of traditional design, offering simply stunning coastal views. Beautiful interiors and a handy spot next door to the fashionable Hotel Tresanton make this an ideal location for a chic Cornish getaway.
Outside, The Anchorage is a handsome white villa of early Victorian design, boasting a pleasing assortment of balconies and differently-shaped windows. Step inside and you'll discover a bright and airy property, furnished to the highest standard, and with fabulous sea views through almost every window.
The entrance hall leads to the sitting room, with tall windows opening out onto views of the bay. A snug seating arrangement centres around the TV and fireplace, where a log fire makes a cosy spot on chilly nights or cold winter days. Beyond is the dining room, with a round table and deep wicker chairs.
At the back of the house, the fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, Nespresso machine, oven, microwave, and fridge-freezer. There's also a useful laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.
Step out through the French doors to the sunny courtyard garden. The outdoor dining table is just made for long alfresco lunches on summer afternoons, or a glass of something chilled on warm evenings.
When bedtime beckons, there are five bedrooms to choose from. The two doubles have a stunning outlook over the sea, with French doors that open onto Juliet balconies. One flexible bedroom can be made up as a double or as twin beds. A further double looks out over the peaceful garden, while the bunk room is perfect for little ones. The property comes with three bathrooms: the family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, a separate shower room and toilet, plus an additional downstairs bathroom with bath and overhead shower.
Days out are all about the beach and the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. The house is located just a stone's throw from the sandy cove of Tavern Beach and your next door neighbour, Hotel Tresanton, is the perfect location for dinner and drinks after a busy day. Further afield St Mawes Castle and the lovely countryside and coastline of the Roseland Peninsula is yours to explore, or hop on the ferry to Falmouth to potter about the shops, museums and waterfront cafes.
