Hidden deep within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these two beautifully crafted treehouses offer couples the perfect hideaway or families a great base from which to enjoy an adventure. Tawny Treehouse and Hoots Treehouse are a duo of luxurious woodland retreats that blend high-end comfort with the magic of being off-grid.
Tawny Treehouse
Up first is Tawny Treehouse, a striking round haven tucked among the trees. You’ll cross a charming bridge to reach your secluded retreat, where a generous deck awaits. Inside, the treehouse is open-plan, light-filled and thoughtfully designed, with every detail curated for comfort and style.
A handcrafted super-king size bed curves away from the main living space and features Egyptian cotton bedding and fluffy pillows. You also have a flat-screen TV for movie nights. The kitchen is sleek and functional with everything from a Nespresso machine to a gas hob, fridge and microwave, while rustic wooden shelves and leafy plants bring a relaxed, homely feel.
The vaulted ceiling, velvet sofa and Bose speaker create a perfect evening setting, and there’s even a romantic table for two by the window. Outside, soak under the stars in the stunning freestanding bathtub or fire up the BBQ for alfresco dining overlooking the fields and woods.
Hoots Treehouse
Then there’s Hoots Treehouse, a cedar-clad treehouse perched above a peaceful pond. Again, a spacious deck wraps around the treehouse, offering views across the landscape and a chance to spot local wildlife.
Inside, the interiors are warm, welcoming and just the right balance of rustic charm and modern luxury. There’s another handcrafted king size bed dressed in crisp white linens, a cosy log-burning stove for chilly nights and even a loft space for two children aged six and up, accessed via ladder and hatch. The bathroom is well-appointed with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, fridge, microwave and Tassimo coffee machine. Prefer to cook outdoors? There’s a gas BBQ and seating on the balcony to make the most of the views and the fresh Sussex air.
With solar-powered lighting, WiFi and all the comforts you’d expect, both treehouses offer an effortlessly relaxing escape.
If you wish to venture out and explore there are numerous walks to enjoy and sights to see by stepping out of the door. The beautiful village of Mayfield is a short walk away and the gardens of Sarah Raven, Great Dixter, Pashley Manor, Scotney Castle and Sissinghurst are each a brief drive away. Also nearby are Bodiam Castle, Batemans, Brighton, Tunbridge Wells and Glyndebourne.

Leave a reviewWe stayed to celebrate our birthdays. We are relatively local but rarely explore what is on our doorstep - We recommend it! Lewes is a wonderful day out. The countryside, surrounding villages, walks, animals are all very beautiful and calming. The tree house itself is stunning, but what the photos don't quite show fully is the attention to detail - white company dressing gowns, Emma Bridgewater crockery, oak everywhere, Bose speaker, internet ready tv, every last thing has been considered and catered for. The shelf next to the bath is big enough for a bottle of champagne (I feel that's not an accident!) And the outside bath faces west so is perfect for relaxing in the bath watching the sun go down either a glass of bubbles. Host is lovely but completely unintrusive. Just perfect! We will be back thank you G&J

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehouse. It felt completely separate from the rest of the world which is just what we wanted: to recharge in nature and in total peace. The accommodation also felt so luxurious - no detail was overlooked and everything was finished to perfection: even down the White Company bath robes. The comfy bed, wonderful deck and of course outside bath get special mention. Couldn't recommend it more. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Beautifully constructed treehouse accessed via a rope bridge. Comfy super king bed, well equipped kitchen & bathroom. The fresh eggs & home made bread were a nice touch. We enjoyed the massive outdoor decking area taking in the peace & tranquility, with a fabulous large copper bath to soak in. Thank you Lucinda for a wonderful, relaxing stay. Such a great host. We will be back
