With space for up to six guests in three bedrooms, the Talisker apartment in the stunningly restored Fort Augustus Abbey is your dream luxury break in the heart of the Highlands. Perched on the western shores of Loch Ness and surrounded by rugged Scottish peaks, it’s the perfect place to relax, recharge and reconnect with friends and family.
As you enter Talisker, you’re greeted by the huge, ornate, original windows offering expansive views over the cloisters, harking back to times gone by. The traditional stonework and architecture throughout the apartment are complemented with modern style and luxury fittings. The open plan kitchen-living-dining area is the hub of the home and features large comfy sofas positioned around a smart TV that’s perfect for relaxing and socialising with friends and family. After a long day exploring the Highlands, there’s nothing quite like curling up under a warm blanket in cosy surroundings. For something a bit quieter, there are board games and books on hand to suit every guest.
The fully-fitted kitchen has everything you need to create culinary delights morning, noon and night. In the mornings, the smell of fresh coffee and cooked breakfasts fills the apartment, perfect for filling up for the day ahead. In the warmer months, head to the communal outdoor BBQ area for some alfresco dining as the sun sets over Highland peaks. For those lazy nights, the Boathouse Restaurant offers a range of food to suit all tastes.
As the nights draw in, there are three bedrooms for up to six guests. The large master bedroom boasts a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower to refresh in the mornings, and a deep bath to sink into after a long day. The twin room is perfect for the kids, and the mezzanine double bedroom offers additional space for guests to sleep in peace and comfort. The family bathroom boasts an additional shower for the rest of the group.
The renovated Fort Augustus Abbey boasts plenty to do for all ages including a swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor table tennis and a huge snooker room. Perched on the shores of Loch Ness, there’s a plethora of walking and biking trails nearby, and further afield, the stunning landscapes of the Cairngorms National Park offer summer and winter activities alike. The stunning West Coast of Scotland is a mere hour’s drive away but for something closer, Fort Augustus offers a range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
