Tucked away in the heart of an ancient Staffordshire wood, these two gorgeous cabins offer a secluded, off-grid hideaway perfect for those seeking romance, tranquillity and a real escape from the everyday. Surrounded by towering trees and the gentle sounds of nature, these design-led shacks feel like a secret retreat – the kind of place you’ll want to keep all to yourself.
Up first is Mizar, which sits 300 metres from the parking spot, a short stroll through the woods reveals your private sanctuary, complete with stunning views from its hidden perch.
The outdoor deck is where Mizar truly shines. Here, a sunken bath awaits, inviting you to soak beneath the canopy of leaves by day or under a blanket of stars by night. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring the surrounding greenery, with just the rustle of leaves and birdsong for company.
Step inside and you’ll find a warm, contemporary space designed for comfort. The interiors are cosy yet stylish, with thoughtful touches that make your stay feel extra-special. The kitchen area is well-equipped for easy meal prep, and there’s space to enjoy dinner together before sinking into a blissful night’s sleep in the inviting double bed. Large windows frame the surrounding woodland, so you can wake up to dappled light and views of the forest beyond. You also have an ensuite shower room for morning soaks.
Next up is Alcor, which is equally cosy and stylish, with design touches that make it feel special. Large windows bring the outside in, framing the view and letting you wake up to peaceful scenes. Whether you’re cooking a simple supper in the well-equipped kitchen or curling up with a book, it’s a space made for comfort and calm. And the ensuite bathroom has a nice hot shower for added convenience.
Alcor also has a fab deck where you can soak in your surroundings, but doesn’t have the luxury of the outdoor bathtub on offer at Mizar. However, that won’t stop you from sitting out here with a good book or enjoying your morning coffee in peace whilst taking in the view.
Set on the edge of Swynnerton Old Park and the Hanchurch Hills Walks, these cabins offer direct access to miles of scenic trails for walking, running and cycling. Despite feeling a world away, you’re just a short stroll from two of Staffordshire’s best pubs – the award-winning Fitzherbert Arms and the characterful Mainwaring Arms. A little further afield, the charming town of Eccleshall offers more eateries, traditional pubs and an award-winning butcher.
