Surrounded by open views, big skies and quiet countryside, this is a wonderfully special retreat for families or friends who want space, comfort and a true sense of escape. With a wood-fired hot tub tucked into the garden and walking routes straight from the door, days here unfold at a gentle, outdoorsy pace.
Inside, the farmhouse feels warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The main living room is quaint and cosy, centred around a wood-burning fireplace and filled with comfy sofas, books and soft light pouring in through large windows. It’s an inviting spot for lazy mornings, fireside chats and evenings spent unwinding together after a day exploring the Highlands.
The kitchen strikes a lovely balance between traditional farmhouse character and modern design, with generous worktops and everything you need to cook for a crowd. Next door, the dining area sits alongside a second living space, where exposed stone walls and a large table set the scene for long, sociable meals that drift effortlessly into the evening.
When it’s time to turn in, there are four beautifully designed bedrooms, all calm and restful, and all able to be arranged as twin or double beds to suit your group. The farmhouse sleeps up to eight adults, with space for up to two additional children under 12 sharing with parents or siblings. There are three bathrooms in total, all with spacious deluxe showers, while the main bathroom also features a freestanding bathtub for indulgent soaks.
Outside is where Surradale really shines. The garden offers a large lawn for games and picnics, a BBQ for alfresco feasts and the much-loved wood-fired hot tub, perfect for sinking into under star-filled Highland skies. There’s even a dedicated workspace inside if you need to catch up on emails before heading back outdoors.
Locally, you’re ideally placed to explore the area around Elgin and the wider Highlands. Enjoy scenic walks and cycling routes straight from the farmhouse, discover beautiful beaches along the Moray Firth coast, or head into Elgin to explore its historic cathedral, independent shops and welcoming cafés. Whisky lovers will find themselves in Speyside territory, with world-famous distilleries nearby, while golfers, wildlife watchers and outdoor adventurers will all find plenty to keep them happily occupied.
