Surradale Farmhouse and Surradale Loft together create something truly special — a beautifully balanced Moray retreat where everyone can be together while still enjoying pockets of privacy. Set within a wide sweep of open farmland, with big skies, far-reaching views and deep rural calm, this combined hire is ideal for families or groups of friends seeking space, comfort and a slower pace of life, with a two-person bolthole just a few steps away.
At the heart of the stay is Surradale Farmhouse, a warm and welcoming home that instantly puts you at ease. The main living room is quaint and cosy, centred around a wood-burning fireplace and filled with comfy sofas and shelves of books. Light streams in through large windows, framing the surrounding countryside and setting the tone for lazy mornings and relaxed evenings spent together.
The farmhouse kitchen blends traditional character with modern ease, offering generous worktops and everything needed to cook for a crowd. Next door, the dining area and second sitting space sit alongside exposed stone walls, creating a sociable hub for shared meals, laughter-filled evenings and conversations that drift long into the night.
When it’s time to turn in, the farmhouse offers four calm and restful bedrooms, all configurable as twin or double beds. Sleeping up to eight adults, with space for two children under 12, it’s well suited to multi-generational stays. Three stylish bathrooms feature spacious deluxe showers, while the main bathroom also includes a freestanding bathtub for indulgent post-walk soaks.
Just next door, with its own separate entrance, Surradale Loft offers a delightful sense of retreat within a retreat. This beautifully renovated bothy is perfect for a couple, grandparents or friends wanting extra independence. Inside, there’s a well-equipped kitchenette, a modern ensuite with rainfall shower and a cosy reading nook. Upstairs, the loft bedroom features a super comfy bed that can be arranged as a double or twin, wrapped in soft lighting and peaceful countryside silence. Well behaved dogs are welcome downstairs too.
Outside, the shared garden invites long, easy days, with a large lawn, BBQ and the much-loved wood-fired hot tub for soaking under star-filled Highland skies. With walking routes from the door and beaches just ten minutes away, days can be as active or as slow as you like.
The location is perfect for exploring Moray and the wider Highlands, from Moray Firth beaches and dolphin spotting to Elgin’s historic cathedral, independent shops and welcoming cafés. Whisky lovers will enjoy being close to Speyside, while golfers, cyclists and wildlife watchers will find plenty to keep them happily occupied.
