Learn moreLocated on the grounds of the marvellous wedding venue Stockbridge Farm Barn, these two quaint shepherd’s huts sit side-by-side and offer a peaceful retreat in the glorious Dorset countryside. Situated four miles south of Sherborne, the huts have delightfully styled interiors, bucketloads of rural charm and plenty of outdoor space.
In summer open up the double doors and let the sunshine in, as you sit and enjoy a morning coffee with your loved ones in the peace and quiet of nature. Or fire up the BBQ and cook up some locally sourced produce as you gaze at the view. Come the evening you can sit by the fire pit long into the night as the stars shine up above. And come winter the wood burner will keep you nice and cosy through the night.
Each hut has a comfy double bed, as well as a quaint kitchenette with a microwave, stove and kettle. They also have a shower, basin, and WC, so you don’t have to venture out to a separate unit to use the amenities.
These two shepherds huts make a great base from which to explore the idyllic county of Dorset. You have plenty of wonderful natural scenery to explore from dramatic cliff walks and amazing beaches to picturesque meadows and forests. Lovers of the great outdoors will be delighted to hear that the Stockbridge Huts also offer great access to no less than six Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - Dorset, Cranborne Chase, Mendip Hills, Blackdown Hills, East Devon, and the Quantock Hills. So make sure you pack your hiking boots before you set off! There are also plenty of cute villages and quaint towns nearby that offer cracking shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

For stays of 4 or more nights we can offer a discount.
For parties of more than 4 people I have a charming studio room which sleeps 2 and has a lovely shower room and small kitchen area which is sometimes available.
Price includes wood for stove or fire pit .
For those keen to explore the beautiful Dorset countryside do bring your own horse/pony. We have stabling for 3 horses and turnout for even more. Please ring the owner for more information.

A beautiful place! The hut was perfect for what my girlfriend and I were looking for when going away for a long weekend to celebrate an anniversary. The host, Cherry, is lovely, kind and warming and made sure everything was perfect for our stay, which made the stay there that much more amazing. The huts are decorated very nicely and I cannot emphasise enough how comfy the bed is! Outdoor space is plentiful and having the large fire pit and seats means that you can spend your late evening outside whilst being nice and cosy. I would highly recommend these huts!

We have just stayed and they are stunning. I have to say we have stayed in a lot of rural/retreat locations and shepherds huts and these are the best so far. They are beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming but the best bit is the host Cherry who bent over backwards to accommodate us, even moving her own family out! Can't recommend highly enough.

Absolutely loved our stay at Stockbridge Huts. Cherry was so helpful and accommodating. She was a brilliant host. Her daughter was also kind enough to give us some fresh eggs from the farm, which of course we had for breakfast! The huts are modern and well decorated inside, we felt very comfy in there. The views are beautiful and the farm is perfect for long walks. We made full use of the fire pit for our evening BBQ's. We will most definitely be returning to the huts for another country break. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at Stockbridge huts! The surroundings were incredibly peaceful and Cherry was a brilliant host. She provided us with fresh eggs on the first morning, a map for planning local walks and firewood for the bbq/fire pit. We cooked on the bbq every night and the Bluetooth speakers fitted in the lodge were great for music and movie nights. Very cosy lodge inside, with a comfortable bed, bathroom and cooking facilities. We booked incredibly last minute but Cherry was very flexible and accommodating. Can't recommend the Stockbridge huts highly enough, a real gem in the heart of Dorset!

Our stay at Stockbridge huts was wonderful! Cherry was extremely friendly and welcoming - we felt very at home! She gave us some fresh eggs upon arrival and provided us with wood for the fire pit/ bbq. The hut was extremely clean, comfortable and cosy! We would definitely stay again - I highly recommend to anyone looking for a little getaway in the countryside!

We thought these huts were really beautiful and we had a fantastic stay. Cherry was incredibly helpful and the huts themselves and the outside space are all wonderful. The surrounding walks were lovely and it was a truly relaxing spot to sit by the fire pit and admire the views - heaven!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a long weekend break, we both loved it from start to finish. The surrounding area was beautiful with lots of long relaxing walks in the area. The huts are settled on a lovely little farm with an amazing field view, we spent most nights sat at the picnic bench with a meal or on a cool night in front of the outdoor wood burner that's provided. The accommodation was not just beautiful, it was relaxing with all the comforts you would ever need for a relaxing stay. The owner (Cherry) was extremely helpful and such a pleasure to talk to, she was very accommodating, willing to answer any questions we had and was a pleasure to talk to when we crossed paths during our stay. I hope to return in the future for a second stay.
