The Details

Starre Manor is a beautiful retreat in Devon that consists of a stunning house that sleeps 10 and a charming barn that sleeps two, with space for two more on a pull-out sofa bed. Combined, this gorgeous retreat offers large groups the perfect place to relax and unwind together in style.

The original home was built in 1502 and offers beautiful interiors, exposed wooden beams, centuries-old wood panelling and striking inglenook fireplaces.

Up first is Starre House. When you arrive, sink into the big leather sofas in the stunning lounge, centred around a gorgeous inglenook fireplace. It’s the perfect spot to relax with a drink as the fire crackles and conversation flows. Natural light pours in through large windows, and a chess board on the coffee table invites friendly competition. For a quieter moment, retreat to the snug with a good book, enjoy a movie in the TV room or challenge friends in the games room with its pool table.

The kitchen is a dream – spacious, stylish and made for social cooking. Perch on a barstool with a glass of wine while someone whips up dinner using the sleek modern appliances. Meals stretch into the evening around the grand dining table, or head outside to the charming courtyard for alfresco feasts. The lawn is perfect for croquet on sunny days.

As night falls, five beautiful bedrooms await – one with a double bed and four kings. Think exposed stone walls, vintage furniture and dreamy, comfy beds. There are four bathrooms too, including one with a deluxe cast-iron bath made for indulgent soaks. Starre House wraps you in warmth, charm and laid-back luxury.

Starre Barn, which is a separate annexe, is a beautifully restored bolthole tucked beside the historic house, offering a stylish escape for up to four. With its own private entrance and secluded courtyard patio, this boutique one-bedroom retreat is all about laid-back luxury and peaceful atmosphere. Inside, rustic charm meets refined comfort - think exposed beams, heritage touches and a dreamy cast iron bath that’s made for long, lazy soaks. The sofa in the lounge also folds out into a bed for two, should you wish to bring a total of 14 guests with you on your trip.

This idyllic retreat is nestled in the picturesque seaside village of Beer, a gem on Devon’s Jurassic Coast. Stroll along the South West Coast Path for breathtaking views, or try your hand at fossil hunting on the nearby beaches. Discover the fascinating Beer Quarry Caves or tuck into fresh seafood at local cafés. Nearby, Pecorama’s gardens and model railway offer a charming day out. Rolling hills, wildflower meadows and cosy pubs define the surrounding countryside, with Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and beautiful Branscombe just a short drive away.
