Tucked away in the peaceful woodlands above Lake Alsó in northern Hungary, the Staircase Cabins offer a serene, adults-only retreat designed for total relaxation, with amazing scenery on your doorstep.

Surrounded by dense forest and birdsong, this hillside hideaway feels beautifully secluded, yet sits just 500 metres from the main building – home to the outstanding Trakta Restaurant. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and mornings begin with birdsong and mist rising from the treetops.

The Staircase Cabins get their name from their unique architectural design. Built to follow the natural slope of the hill, the structures flow in harmony with the landscape, blending seamlessly into their surroundings. No trees were cut during construction, and each 60 sqm Scandinavian-style cabin has an open-plan layout with no interior walls, offering uninterrupted forest views from every corner. Cleverly designed staircases separate the different functional areas over split levels, creating a sense of space and simplicity.

Inside, the cabins are light-filled and calming, with clean lines and natural textures. Each one includes a stylish bathroom with both a shower and a freestanding bath for stargazing soaks. A 5-star hotel-quality mattress with premium bedding guarantees a restful night’s sleep. Each cabin also features a furnished terrace with a parasol – the perfect spot to sip wine or enjoy a morning coffee among the trees.

Your stay includes a daily Nomad breakfast featuring local hams, cheeses, egg dishes, fresh vegetables, and specialty coffee. For guests staying two nights or more, a bottle of Bolyki Winery’s finest wine awaits your arrival.
