Stable Cottage sits in the south of Snowdonia, one of three national parks in Wales (and containing the highest peaks outside of Scotland). The region - known for its sprawling open lands and mountainous landscape - is a favourite of nature lovers. The wonderfully varied landscape consists of steep river gorges, picturesque waterfalls, green valleys, and charming country villages. This makes it the ideal setting for hikes, trails, mountain biking, or a nice country drive. With 23 miles of coastline, it is also home to several sandy beaches. The nearby village of Aberdovey (seven miles) is home to a world class golf course, while the market town of Machynlleth is home to the fascinating Centre for Alternative Technology.
