Slate Park

Hidden away in a tranquil part of South Devon’s countryside near Modbury, Slate Park is a luxurious cabin surrounded by nature. It has been handcrafted by the local Bourne from Nature team, using materials sourced from the area where possible. Wake up to the sun rising over the stunning surroundings, enjoying the view from your king size bed. Put your feet up in the garden, surrounded by wildflowers and busy insects and birds or head out for a long walk. In the evenings, unwind in the hot tub and watch as the sun sets over the countryside. This is the perfect spot for couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature.

The front of the cabin has floor-to-ceiling windows letting in plenty of natural light and showcasing the spectacular views of the fields and rolling hills. The king size bed is set just in front of this window, so you can enjoy the view as soon as you wake up in the morning and is equipped with a sustainably made Naturmat mattress topper and responsibly sourced bedding.

Move further into the cabin and you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen. There’s everything you’ll need here to rustle up delicious meals after a trip to the beach or an afternoon strolling through Modbury. The ensuite bathroom features a bespoke sink bowl, hand-thrown less than a mile away by a local ceramicist. There’s also underfloor heating to keep you cosy after you’ve stepped out of the rainfall shower.

Open up the bi-fold doors at the front of the cabin and extend your living space outside into the pretty garden. There’s a wood-fired hot tub complete with jacuzzi bubbles surrounded by lovely wildflower planting. You can cook outdoors on the ceramic BBQ and there’s also a handy outdoor shower for rinsing wetsuits, boots or muddy paws after a day exploring.

The cabin is located in the South Hams, close to the charming town of Modbury. The town has pretty streets with historic architecture, making it a lovely place for a stroll and a cup of coffee. Visit the Modbury Art Gallery to see some contemporary pieces from local and national artists and look out for the beautiful stained glass windows in St George’s Church. Head out into the countryside for long walks or bike rides along the Erme-Plym Trail or the South West Coastal Path or have a go at some watersports at the nearby beaches of Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea.
