The details
Hidden away in the Wye Valley, Seren is a cosy studio overlooking the stunning Welsh countryside and the River Wye. The remote location is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life and apart from another self-catering apartment next door and the owner’s cottage across the road, there’s no one else nearby. You can relax in utter peace and tranquillity, with countryside walks and picnics during the day and barbeques back at Seren in the evenings. And after a day out exploring the local scenery, why not hop in your own private wood fired hot tub for a relaxing, luxurious soak?
The studio’s interior has been painted white, opening up the space and the roof light make it feel light and airy. Bright splashes of colour add a bit of character and make the studio warm and welcoming. You’ll find everything you need inside, from kitchen essentials to underfloor heating to books and games to keep you entertained on rainy days. When you step into the studio, you’ll find the kitchen area and a table and chairs, everything you'll need to enjoy some delicious holiday meals. The kitchen, though small, is fully equipped with a hob, oven and even a dishwasher.
There’s a comfy sofa in the living area where you can curl up with a book in the evening or plan the next day’s adventures together. Next to this, you’ll find the modern bathroom with a luxurious waterfall shower. Set on a level above the kitchen and living area, the bedroom is accessed via ladders. This cosy king bed is nestled under the eves of the studio, promising a good night’s sleep.
Outside, there’s a raised garden area which has a picnic bench and a barbecue, perfect for alfresco meals with a spectacular view. On warm evenings, sit out here with a glass of wine in hand, get some food on the barbecue and enjoy the sunset over the valley. The hot tub is also located out here, meaning you can sit under the stars in the warmth of the tub whilst enjoying a glass of something bubbly.
Seren is a haven for those looking to reconnect with nature. You can walk out of the front door and straight into the Wye Valley where ancient woodlands filled with bluebells and wildflower meadows await. The Wye Valley walk takes you down to the river and up to Beacon View for stunning vistas over the Brecon Beacons. The studio is also well located for some of the most exciting festivals in Wales, including Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival, Green Man music festival and Abergavenny Food Festival.

We spent 4 nights here.we really enjoyed our stay. It was very cosy, clean and to top it off we got to enjoy the hot tub each night. We also had our own private garden which was lovely,we had lovely weather so got to eat outside often. We would say the only thing that needed doing was the bushes in the garden to be trimmed down a little so that you could enjoy the beautiful views while sitting down. We would highly recommend!!

Just got back from the most relaxing stay at Seren. Had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts and given all the information required for use of the property, hot tub etc. Located in an area so peaceful and quiet, the bird song is incredible. Seren has been thought out immaculately with the use of space utilising the maximum for such a small space. You really do not feel boxed in, especially with the expanse and view from the front door. Well worth a stay for a lovely kick back, relax and reset. Highly recommend.
