The details
Let the sea slow you down at Seasgair, a beautifully designed coastal retreat where large glass sliding doors frame spectacular views across Scotland’s west coast. Taking its name from the Scottish Gaelic word meaning cosy, warm, snug and sheltered, this larch-clad hideaway is a wonderfully peaceful place for two to switch off and simply watch the sea, sky and landscape change throughout the day.
Inside, calming Scandi-style interiors and warm, soothing tones create an inviting space that feels every bit as restful as the scenery outside. The open plan living area is flooded with natural light and makes the most of those fabulous views. Start the morning curled up on the leather sofa with a fresh coffee, binoculars close at hand for spotting wildlife (sea eagles, buzzards and if you’re lucky otters, dolphins or porpoise are all regularly spotted from the cabin), then settle back here in the evening with a glass of wine and a film on the smart TV.
Underfloor heating keeps things wonderfully cosy when the weather turns wild outside.
The sleek kitchen has everything you need for an easy self-catering stay, including a standard size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, Quooker instant boiling water tap, Sabatier knives and a De'Longhi espresso machine. There’s also a stylish dining table for four, giving you a lovely spot for leisurely breakfasts or relaxed dinners overlooking the scenery.
When it’s time to turn in, the peaceful bedroom features a super-king size bed with an exceptionally comfortable Hypnos mattress. The beautiful and calming ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, offering a refreshing start after a restful night or somewhere to warm up after a day spent exploring the coast.
Outside, there’s a large stoned area with a table and chairs, so when the weather behaves you can dine alfresco or simply sit with a drink and soak up your surroundings. A firepit is also available on request for atmospheric evenings beneath the open sky. There’s ample parking close to the front door, ramp access and a handy outdoor tap for rinsing muddy walking boots or salty wetsuits.
You can make your stay here as active or as slow-paced as you like.
A truly stunning walking route starts right on our doorstep, where you’ll be lucky to encounter another soul. And for those who love getting out on the water, the beach (mostly stony with a slither of sand!) is just a five-minute walk from the cabin, perfect for wild swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding. If you’re up for more adventure then you can go whale watching along the coast or set off on an island adventure.
The award winning Kilmartin historic site and museum is 10 mins drive away and the beautiful Arduaine Gardens with many unusual species of plants are also waiting to be discovered nearby.
And when you’ve had your fill of exploring, return to Seasgair, put your feet up and let those ever-changing sea views do the unwinding for you.
