Sitting right on the border between England and Wales, just outside the pretty village of Skenfrith, this beautifully appointed retreat for two offers luxurious interiors, gorgeous countryside views and the chance to spend your days surrounded by wildlife, with little more than birdsong and the gentle flow of the river for company.

Once an old garage on a historic farmstead, Ruthlin has been transformed into a stylish and characterful bolthole with an impressive attention to detail. Step inside and you'll discover a warm, welcoming space where beautiful Lucie Annabel wallpaper, carefully chosen furnishings and a charming electric Aga create an inviting country atmosphere. Settle into a comfy armchair with a morning coffee, watch the birds gathering at the feeder outside or lose yourself in a good book as the afternoon slips away.

When it's time for bed, retreat to the beautiful bedroom, where a sumptuous king size bed dressed in Egyptian cotton linen promises a wonderfully restful night's sleep. The bed can also be arranged as twins on request. The luxurious bathroom is another highlight, featuring a gorgeous Lusso bath, double basins and indulgent toiletries for a proper pampering session.

Outside, the magic continues. Wander through the private garden, stretch out in the hammock or find a sunny spot beside the river and watch for kingfishers, otters and other wildlife. There's even a little riverside beach where you can enjoy a refreshing dip when conditions allow. As evening falls, light the firepit and settle down beneath spectacular starry skies, far from the glow of city lights.

And when you fancy exploring, the surrounding countryside is full of wonderful discoveries. Wander into medieval Skenfrith to explore its atmospheric castle, follow scenic trails through the Monnow Valley or visit the charming market town of Monmouth.
