Riverside Lodge is an idyllic and peaceful retreat tucked away in a quiet corner of the Hampshire countryside on the banks of the River Avon. The lodge itself sleeps four guests, whilst a further two are accommodated in a nearby glamping pod.
The cedar-clad lodge has giant sliding doors and huge windows which allow the outside in. These flood the interior with natural light and open up onto the wooden terrace, so come summertime make sure you slide open the doors and let that fresh country air in.
The living area is nice and open plan with large, comfortable sofas positioned so you can enjoy the view whilst staying nice and cosy next to the wood-burner. There's also a dining table for four next to the French Doors so you can open them wide and enjoy an al fresco style dinner indoors. The modern and stylish kitchen has all the equipment you'll need to cook up a feast including a fridge, oven, electric hob, and microwave. Cracking artwork throughout gives the property a stylish and rural feel, reminding you at all times that you're on the water's edge.
The master bedroom has a super-king bed that can be converted into two singles if required. This room has a door out onto the terrace so you can wake up and enjoy some fresh air whilst you lie in bed with your morning cuppa. There is also a twin room with comfy beds and big windows letting in yet more natural light. The final bedroom is situated in the nearby glamping pod. The Glamping Pod has space for two and is situated near to the lodge, offering two guests their own private bedroom in a secluded spot away from the main building. This pod offers total privacy as it sits in a quiet secluded location and those staying in the pod can access the shower room and toilet from a side door of the lodge. The family bathroom in the lodge makes use of a shower over the bath tub, an also has a WC and basin.
Upon arrival you will also receive a lovely Welcome Pack that includes a hamper filled with treats and a basket of logs for the fireplace. The hamper includes a bottle of Prosecco, some eggs, biscuits, jam, and fudge!
Riverside Lodge is a fantastic holiday home for nature lovers. You can gaze out the window as the sun sets across the river to the water meadows and ancient woodland beyond. Perched by a small lake on an elevated location that is yards from the river, guests are treated to plenty of peace and quiet, with space to spread out and relax in style. The Hampshire Avon is one of the most beautiful and best coarse fishing rivers in the UK, so it's a joyous spot for anyone who loves fishing.
If you wish to venture further afield and explore then you're in for a treat. The lodge sits nicely between the New Forest National Park and the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These two delightful spots offer up a wide range of fabulous walking and cycling routes, as well as some cracking country pubs.
