Rhuvaal is a striking contemporary hideaway on the western edge of the Ardnamurchan peninsula where shifting tides, sweeping skies and distant islands create a mesmerising backdrop to slow days and peaceful nights. Tucked into the tiny hamlet of Portuairk, this modern coastal retreat has been designed to bring the outside in, offering front-row views of nature’s theatre from almost every angle.
Step inside and you’ll find sunlit spaces. Skylights pour light onto soft textures and soothing tones, while expansive windows frame the ever-changing horizon. Two gorgeous lounges give you room to gather or drift apart - downstairs, a warm, open-plan living space with a wood-burning stove and plush sofas sets the scene for storytelling and slow evenings, while upstairs a second lounge offers a peaceful perch to watch the weather roll across the bay.
Five beautifully appointed bedrooms ensure everyone has a sanctuary of their own. The master suite offers a king size bed, walk-in wardrobe and a sleek ensuite with a spacious shower. Two further king rooms echo the home’s serene palette and offer generous built-in storage. A cosy double room provides a quiet place to retreat, while the charming bunk room - stocked with books and games - is perfect for little adventurers. Calming lighting, luxurious linens and layered textures create a sense of gentle indulgence throughout.
Three modern bathrooms continue the theme of comfort, with warm touches, heated towel rails and thoughtful amenities. The ensuite features a large walk-in shower, while another bathroom with a full-size bath invites long soaks after windswept days. A third shower room ensures easy mornings for everyone. Outside, a heated outdoor shower offers a blissful rinse after salty swims or sandy beach walks.
The beautifully designed kitchen makes cooking a joy, complete with a spacious island, five-ring induction hob, double oven and everything needed for easy group dining. Gather around the large table for leisurely breakfasts, lively suppers and long evenings spent watching the changing light.
With wild beaches, hidden coves and heather-cloaked hills right from your doorstep, days here unfold at nature’s pace. Wander to the vast sands of Sanna, beachcomb along Bay MacNeil or follow coastal trails to the iconic Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. Keep an eye out for otters, dolphins and soaring white-tailed eagles as you explore this dramatic, soul-stirring corner of Scotland.
