The details
Set within an old quarry, this impressive architectural beauty boasts a huge open space and panoramic views, ideal for a group of friends looking for a place to relax or a large family get together.
On arrival you'll find a private gated entrance and ample parking, a first glimpse of the glamour to come. You'll enter into the social heart of the house, an open-plan dining and entertaining area that manages to be both elegant and full of vibrant colours. The interior design is delightful with bottle green walls off-setting mustard footrests and peacock blue rugs with lamps in a dusty hot pink. It all clashes and works wonderfully in an eclectic, bold statement. Accents of gold can be found in ornaments, edged around furniture and in the fabulous mirrors adorning the walls. Velvet abounds and there's a vast amount of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the glorious views.
As well as a raised breakfast bar, the kitchen area has a big dining table adjacent so you can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail and watch the cook work their magic with the top of the range Neff appliances before sitting down to eat. A feature double-sided fireplace separates the dining area from the lounge creating a cosy vibe despite the size of the space. Grab your drink and sink into the opulent sofa for a movie night or a chat with nibbles.
When it's time for bed you have four elegantly decorated bedrooms to choose from. Three are super-kings, one of which is the main bedroom and has a dressing room and ensuite with a bath, double shower and twin sinks. The other two super-king size bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms and an outdoor private space leading to the elevated terrace. The final room has twin beds which can be zipped together to make a super-king if needed. All of the rooms have the same stylish pops of colour, luxurious bed linens and soft throws creating a sleepy oasis for you to enjoy. And if you need a little down time all the rooms come with smart TVs. There's also a family bathroom so no need for anyone to queue!
In the morning grab a coffee and head through the French doors to the wonderful roof terrace, make yourself comfortable on one of the sofas or sun loungers and enjoy the incredible views of Cheddar Valley and the reservoir below. In summer the lower terrace provides an excellent spot for alfresco dining with plenty of seating, a gas BBQ, table tennis and a selection of outdoor games. But if you just want to relax, you can bring a towel and sink into the hot tub with a glass of something sparkling.
If you can drag yourself away there's a pleasant stroll down the hill to the village of Cheddar and you'll find shops, cafes, restaurants and a lovely riverside walk. You could take a tour around the famous Cheddar Gorge and its caves or drive through the ravine and be rewarded with gorgeous views of the Mendip Hills.
