The detail

Located just off the serene Portuguese Coast, Pura Vida is a large Mediterranean-style villa that comes decked out with all of the modern conveniences that you would expect from a luxury property. The villa can sleep 10, with four bedrooms and a mezzanine bedroom area, all featuring plush queen size beds, storage space, and ensuite bathrooms.

With sweeping, rice field views and a uniquely Portuguese atmosphere, Pura Vida is an ideal place to sample a slower-paced life in rural Portugal. It’s located just a stone’s throw away from the local beach, making enjoying long, languid seaside days effortless. And, with a daily professional cleaning service included in the rental price, all you’ll have to worry about is enjoying your stay.

By largely utilising white and other light colours, Pura Vida maximises the natural light that streams in through the property’s enormous windows to create a relaxed Mediterranean feel throughout. The villa has a fully-equipped kitchen, including the finest cookware and kitchen appliances and a dishwasher to make cleaning up a breeze. If you prefer to do your cooking al fresco, then you can grill away at your heart’s content on Pura Vida’s rustic BBQ.

Offering five separate bathrooms for each of the villa’s sleeping spaces, guests will have plenty of privacy and ample space to unwind and relax. And, if the extensive amenities provided aren’t sufficient, then the owners of Pura Vida are able to offer a number of extras for an additional fee, including bicycle rental, extended cleaning services, a private chef and assistant and high chair and cot hire.

Pura Vida is found just a short walk from the Praia do Carvalhal beach, widely recognised as one of Portugal's finest. Slightly further afield are the equally stunning beaches of Praia dos Bejos and Praia do Prego. This is an area yet to be discovered by mass tourism, so you can take in the local seascapes without having to worry about battling the crowds.

If you'd like to explore the local area, Pura Vida is situated near the sleepy seaside village of Comporta. The local landscape is incredibly varied, blending rice paddies, pine forests, cliffs and sand dunes to dramatic effect. Comporta is also part of the Alentejo region of Portugal, much of which is made up of nature reserve and land used for agriculture. And, if you start to miss the hustle and bustle of city life, the property is only about an hour's drive from the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.
