Behind the historic exterior of this Grade II-listed chapel lies a posh bunkhouse that is full of surprises. Sophisticated, chic and seriously stylish, it is a designer hang-out in a stunning location. Canoe down the River Wye or walk up the flourishing hillsides, before curling back up in your uber-cool lodgings. With sumptuous bunk beds and a fun adult slide, you can sit back and relax and enjoy the ride.
The five-star bunkhouse is nestled in the pretty village of Glasbury-on-Wye and has captivating views of the glistening river waters. Its luxurious interiors make it perfect for grown-up getaways, while its waterfront position is ideal for adventure holidays. Set on the top floor of the local activity shop, you can even hire everything you need without venturing out. With canoes, scooters, mountain bikes and kayaks, there is plenty of excitement for all of the party.
The spacious accommodation is reached via a sleek glass staircase that leads up onto a mezzanine level. Minimalist white walls reflect the natural sunlight, while original arched windows peer out over the riverside. A large wood burning stove takes the centre stage and is surrounded by an over-sized sofa that can ease your pains. With a modern kitchen and a massive dining area, it is a welcoming place for a social get-together.
Off the main living area you’ll find six, sizeable bunk beds that have super-soft bedding and sink-in mattresses. Suitable for both adults and children alike, they are comfortable pods to rest weary heads. Hidden behind a screen in the main living room, there’s also a master double bedroom with a king size mattress. Served by three deluxe showers and contemporary toilets, this really is the height of bunkhouse living.
When it’s time to head out to explore the local area, there’s no need to waste time walking down the staircase as hidden in the corner of the elegant living area is a unique slide that takes you down to the lower level. Here you can head out for a day on the river or for a fresh country walk to fill you with vigour. For a more relaxed time, you can explore the local village pubs before heading to the river café for some delicious local grub. With excellent reviews and a friendly atmosphere, you can recover from your day in the best possible way.
