A home away from home, Porth Eryri Forest Cabins offer a modern yet rustic retreat in the depths of Pentrefoelas, Wales. Enveloped by a sea of greenery, the cabins truly feel part of the rural landscape, furnished with an open-plan living area, integrated log burner and a walk-in shower for added luxury. Each property hosts a large, decked area with a combination BBQ, pizza oven and wood-burning chimenea, apt for getting creative in a kitchen surrounded by nature. Outside, guests can also find a lavish, wood-fired hot tub, perfect for sinking into a sea of bubbles morning, noon or night.
Accommodating up to six people through a combination of upper-level king size, double and bunk beds, the cabins are a perfect respite for a small family or group of friends. You have a choice between Moel Siabod and Tryfan, and larger groups can be accommodated by booking both cabins.
Spread across two floors with rustic wooden beams, these properties offer a unique sleeping set-up: nestled in a “hayloft” nook above the open-plan living area, the double bed is accessible via a ladder, gazing straight out beyond the glass doors to the forest. Elsewhere, the bunk beds are a fun prospect for both children and adults alike, furnished with cosy throws and soft linen.
The interiors are bright and airy, operating on a cream and soft, glacial green colour palette, assimilating with the forest setting. With an open-plan living space, the cabins have a friendly, sociable feel. The glass doors offer stunning views of the Welsh countryside and can be pushed open during the summer months to join the interior with the exterior decking. The fully-fitted kitchen and dining areas are furnished with a large wooden table, perfect for family meals, with the facilities including a double hob, a fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. Both cabins have individual shared bathrooms with an opulent rainfall walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet. Both cabins are modernised, offering WiFi and a smart TV.
If it’s nature you’re looking for, Porth Eryri Forest Cabins is undoubtedly for you. The Fairy Glen Gorge is a picturesque, secluded gorge near the village of Betws-y-Coed. Here, you can seek out mythical sprites with the little ones or admire the natural landscape. Swallow Falls, an immense waterfall found on the northern bank of the Afon Llugwy, is found at the end of a narrow path, apt for rock lovers. Betws-y-Coed is often labelled the “Gateway to Snowdonia”, bursting with hikers, mountain bikers and cyclists. Here, you can visit the Conwy Valley Railway Museum, Pont-y-Pair Bridge or the Llyn Elsi, a shallow reservoir with incredible views of the local area.
