The details
In the middle of one of Dorset's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you will find a truly stunning getaway. Pinwheel Treehouse is situated within Mallinson's Woodland Retreat, a private section of woodland which has a number of secluded, self-contained forest getaways. Here, you can truly escape the rat race of modern life and lose yourself in the serenity of nature. While Pinwheel is ideally positioned to use as a base to escape the greater Dorset region, guests will have everything they need to enjoy a romantic couple's retreat. Pinwheel boats a RIBA award-winning design, a fully equipped kitchen, indoor bathroom, outdoor decking, a BBQ, firepit, and a charming outdoor swing. And that is without even mentioning the hot tub.
Pinwheel Treehouse has been constructed using the finest materials both inside and out. On each side of the exterior one-way glass mirrors reflect the striking woodland scene, concentric timber rings give the façade a three-dimensional look. The Treehouse gets its name from the construction of the rooms, with them arranged in a crossed pattern in the vein of a child's pinwheel windmill.
The living area is in the centre of the house and has a large couch sitting underneath a glass ceiling, facing a wood burning stove. This main section of the house also contains a well equipped modern kitchen and a comfortable double bed. There is also an en-suite with a flush toilet, along with a separate shower and dressing room. Step outside and onto the decking area where you can enjoy the beautiful woodland views. Out on the decking you will also find a wood-fired pizza oven, barbecue, hot tub, fire pit, and a swing.
Mallinson's Woodland Retreat sits within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A favourite of nature lovers, the region is replete with walking and cycling trails, while the diverse landscape features chalk downs, steep limestone ridges, and low-lying clay valleys. The Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONB's are also just a short drive eastwards. The Tytherleigh Arms, a favourite pub of the owners, is a couple of miles from Mallinson's and is very popular for Sunday lunch. Other things to do in the area include a visit to Forde Abbey, the second highest point in Dorset - Pilsden Pen, Black Cow Vodka distillery tours, and Fossil Hunting at Charmouth The town of Lyme Regis also sits less than 10 miles to the south, offering beautiful coastal views and a charming seaside resort feel.
